@________dot @mysti_mole ah gotcha, in all fairness you did almost too a good job feigning the tone of the other people legit asking similar questions (i.e. completely missing the provided context). Take care <3
English

@prtlyblue @mysti_mole that was a rhetorical question calling out the implicature that intersex people will "claim" to be trans women though they are not.
English

@mysti_mole are they saying intersex people can’t be trans women or something

God help you if you grow up with a best friend from the opposite gender, because the way my family still calls her my “girlfriend” even over a decade later drives me mad

every once in a while I see a clip comp that makes me believe there's hope for humanity

@jaycesfatthighs @Nicoinatree ik the issues obv proceeds this, but Chuck Lorre's blatant mockery of neurodivergence and asexuality through Sheldon Cooper did so much lasting damage by signal boosting annoying talking points & stereotypes (e.g. asexuality = hasn't had sex, autism = hasn't learned to socialize)
English

@Nicoinatree A lot of it is entirely because of amatonormativity. Allo people refuse to believe that people can exist w/o desire for romance or sex. I’ve had ppl tell me to my face that I must be lying or “ill meet the right person eventually” or “how do you know if you haven’t TRIED”

@bpdnarchy @overtfaggot @thereisabeth Neither of them said evil? Ignorance means not knowing something, it isn't a mark on a person's moral character. Please reread what they said bc you're creating a scenario in your head that they're creating scenarios on their head. You agree with these people, no need to fight
English

@overtfaggot @thereisabeth It's not about ignorance- they literally can not relate in that way and don't understand the issue. The key is to talk about it and explain, not create some scenarios in your head like everyone else is evil and ignorant

@Sereia_Na_Areia @WinnieAPEX @BungeeGum_4 Maybe I'm naive, but the cis voices being heard by the ""neutral"" bureaucrat types, aren't people who might stop caring because a couple tweets gets 3k likes. It's the researchers and informed folks that know HRT verifiably helps with hormonal dysphoria
English

@WinnieAPEX @Sereia_Na_Areia @BungeeGum_4 This. I'll go even farther to fully say, it doesn't matter how we phrase things for TERFs because the nature of their relationship to us is to find ANYTHING to attack us with and make stuff up when they can't find anything "substantive". TERFs attack us because they hate us
English

@Sereia_Na_Areia @prtlyblue @BungeeGum_4 Their argument isnt that it isnt a right, their argument is that its degenerate, even in a free healthcare system they would call it degenerate even though it would be a right in that system
English

@Sereia_Na_Areia @WinnieAPEX @BungeeGum_4 Over and over the same exact fights and everyone gets mad without trying to come to any resolution. I am a person that needs HRT and I'll go any lengths to get it, but I can still see people mean well and we ought to be focusing our energy on protecting each others needs <3
English

@Sereia_Na_Areia @WinnieAPEX @BungeeGum_4 You're okay, and it's not your "responsibility to take the time to explain to others", but when people are fighting back and forth over something that was never said, you clear it up by explaining what the confusion is. x.com/prtlyblue/stat…

@btwnrevolutions It's people B trying to be nice about what they thought was people A being mean. People A get mad for being called mean, and assume people B are being mean. It spirals from there until it becomes back and forth meaness. This all started from people A saying they need HRT.
English

@WinnieAPEX @Sereia_Na_Areia @BungeeGum_4 Winnie, that's what people have been doing. Folks jumped in and said "you don't need HRT to be valid" in response to people talking about not having HRT access not realizing they were ignoring the hurt of people trying to get HRT
English

@Sereia_Na_Areia @prtlyblue @BungeeGum_4 You can have a conversation about how much it sucks to not have hrt, you just cant scapegoat ppl because you cant defend your right to hrt. They dont care that you think you need dysphoria or need to be on hrt to be trans
English

@Sereia_Na_Areia there's irony in the grammar and spelling mistakes which is not lost on me. I think miscommunications and misunderstandings are normal and part of being human :)
English

@Sereia_Na_Areia @WinnieAPEX @BungeeGum_4 Not knocking you, I just think a better choice of words is the way we get through discourse stemming from miscommunication, not by something that could be interpreted as the trans community being philosophically divided (we are not)
English

@WinnieAPEX @Sereia_Na_Areia @BungeeGum_4 Of course, agender people are trans. From my understanding it falls under the nonbinary umbrella, but I could totally see why someone would want to categorize it as different than NB though. Do you think trans people are trans no matter how strong their dysphoria is?
