@Nicoinatree A lot of it is entirely because of amatonormativity. Allo people refuse to believe that people can exist w/o desire for romance or sex. I’ve had ppl tell me to my face that I must be lying or “ill meet the right person eventually” or “how do you know if you haven’t TRIED”

When I came out to my Mother as Asexual. She screamed at me, saying, "You don't go through life without sex." Then she put me into therapy, where the therapist gave me homework to look for apartments to get out of that toxic environment. 💖

@overtfaggot @thereisabeth It's not about ignorance- they literally can not relate in that way and don't understand the issue. The key is to talk about it and explain, not create some scenarios in your head like everyone else is evil and ignorant

Another reason why people think this is useful is because think trans people want to be trans No, being trans is not our desire, we desire transitioning and living as our preferred gender, we use trans as the label for that "You're still trans" is pointless
