Paper #6. Plan 9 is a distributed OS from the UNIX folks in the late 80s. It's too ahead of its time -- Plan 9 essentially builds a "cloud" stack atop UNIX's file abstraction. In Plan 9, all services are "file servers" which are accessed through a network protocol named 9P. (9P is still in use today by QEMU, Nix, WSL, etc)
