It was a pleasure visiting @ps53si during their Civics for All Week assembly to speak with the fifth grade students about my role representing the 51st District in the New York City Council and my commitment to public service.

🏀 The PS53 Swish & Wish Hoop-A-Thon was a slam dunk! Thanks to our amazing students, families, and staff, we raised $17,731 to support our school community. Thank you for your incredible support! 💙

This week for Civics for All Week, we welcomed Frank Morano to our school! Students got to ask questions and hear about his experiences in politics and the importance of civic engagement.

We wrapped up our celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Week today with students dressing up as their future careers and wearing college gear! It was a fun way to celebrate reading and all the possibilities it opens for the future. 📚🎓✨

🎩📚 We celebrated Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and Read Across America Week with a fun Wacky Half Day—hat edition! Inspired by Dr. Seuss, our students and staff showed off their silliest, wackiest hats while celebrating the joy of reading. A perfect way to honor Read Across America

Our Cafeteria Mural Grant is officially underway! 🎨✨ After weeks of brainstorming ideas, sketching designs, and collaborating on a shared vision, our 5th graders had their very first day of painting today! Seeing their creativity come to life was such an exciting moment.

❄️ Our 100th Day of School celebration may have been delayed by the snowstorm, but today we finally celebrated—and it was 100% worth the wait! 💯🎉 Students enjoyed special activities, lots of creativity, and big smiles as we marked this exciting milestone together.
