The #VoiceToParliament is a simple and safe proposition. It’s about recognising the uniqueness of First Nations history in Australia. ✅ It’s about ending wasteful spending. ✅ Vote yes on 14 Oct and help make history. The nation has nothing to lose. It’s that simple. #Yes23

Ask your friends and the people you work with. Are you enrolled to vote? Let people know how to get enrolled. Offer to help them. Offer to drive them to a booth. It’s way too soon to give up.

I just heard a Green MP on the radio arguing that anyone with more than one house should be legally made to rent any other than their primary residence out. This is the politics of jealousy & envy, at an extreme level. Surely if you own an asset you decide how it’s used & when, you are after all the owner, and presumably you’ve worked to earn the money to buy that asset. Using their warped logic you’d argue that if you have two nice motors you’d be required to lend one to the young punks down the road to do a roadie to Queenstown, or so they can go ram raid the local dairy with it. Ditto if you own more than one of anything, including planes, helicopters, boats, or a bach at the beach. It’s hard to believe that 14% of the voting public subscribe to these politics of envy, but that apparently is our modern world that we’ve evolved into, don’t bother working any more kids, just take the assets off those who have

@StrayDogNZ @_chloeswarbrick One of the smartest politicians in Aotearoa, sadly, having to debate one of the most foolish. Swarbrick is her usual calm, clear, articulate self, Seymour is doing his DebSoc routine.

Chlöe Swarbrick: There's a lot of fascinating similarities between the ACT Party and NZ First isn't there? The force of personality that is their leaders for one and the fact that there are definitely some interesting policies that are race-baiting, divisive and otherwise.

As a clinician of 25 yrs with 100% Aboriginal clients I will tell you this. Many stolen generations ppl are outwardly successful & live with debilitating trauma everyday. Trauma is internalised very often -flashbacks; Re experiencing trauma etc etc Many trauma victims end up committing suicide due to the debilitating nature of trauma symptoms including a sense of disconnection from others-so they bury their symptoms further. This current rhetoric of portraying trauma as some kind of personal weakness we need to “get over” ain’t helping that realty

In light of the torrent of feedback from no supporters to my various #Yes23 posts and videos, it seems a good time to again address the question that seems to come up most frequently.
