@Rwrpoduk They’ve got great wrestlers, stories that make sense, and characters people care about. Can’t go too far wrong when you have that.

I say this as someone who has only followed AEW from a distance over the past few years, but it has to be said that there feels like there is a real buzz around tonight’s PPV. Momentum is hard to get, even harder to keep, but AEW certainly appear to have it right now.

@ProWMoments Agree 100%. I definitely won’t watch live, but even watching Monday after work is a struggle.

It would be really lovely if the AEW pay per view was on tonight, preferably with an afternoon East coast start time. I thought those shows worked so well, especially clocking in north of 4 hours. Sunday at 8pm EST/Midnight UK going 4+ hours is a big ask

@Rwrpoduk I think having Cody vs Orton punishes Orton rather than Drew, who was the guy responsible for interfering in the match. They could possibly be aiming to book a four way match for Mania, with Fatu being added. Possibly a late change of plan due to recent injuries.

@psekulic I guess I can live with that, but I don’t much love the visual of immediately after the event booking a match for the very title he just failed to get a shot at. AND, surely the match should be Cody vs. Orton (on Smackdown) to determine the TRUE winner of the WM title shot?

So, what was the point of Cody competing in the Chamber?

Cool stat. Now let’s have him win. I don’t know much about Je’Von but wouldn’t it just be so exciting for them to go in such a wild direction? You’ve got the big Punk/Roman match already lined up, so having a ‘lesser’ match for the other title costs you very little.

@Rwrpoduk @ProWMoments @DanielSDWit Could be wrong, but I does your system rely on quantity of highly rated matches as well as the quality? Some of these guys probably won because they had a few massive highs that stuck in people’s minds, rather than consistently high level work.

Thanks, I managed to find it on Discovery+ in the UK. 🙂 The BBC is showing the rest of the Winter Olympic coverage so couldn’t understand why they weren’t showing the hockey.
