On his way to make a Blinkit delivery, Ravi was detained by the police near Nizamuddin between 1 and 1.30 pm. He says they told him he should not be out because he could be arrested under the National Security Act for 12 months. Ravi said he became interested in going to the CJP protest because he had seen in the news that the young were asking for a “better future.” He said it we important to ensure that the exam-related suicides “don’t happen to the young brothers and sisters” gathered there. Speaking to @singhamritaa, he recounts being shuttled between multiple police stations before finally being released from Badarpur Police Station at around 8.30 pm. Interview by Amrita Singh

So, youth cannot move on the roads of Delhi freely. Delhi police has become a law unto itself. Police should act to preserve law and order, not the BJP govt.

25 July | Updates on the Jantar Mantar protest Speaking to @SunilKashyap0, Rajat, a 28-year-old activist with Joint Action Committee at Benares Hindu University, said that at around 3.30 am, the Delhi Police detained several students from Varanasi in the Green Park area in Delhi. They were spraying slogans on walls, opposing paper leaks and the BJP government—one slogan said “Modi Shame” and another said “Shame Shah,” referring to the prime minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah, respectively. The government is rewarding corruption instead of ensuring accountability! Last night, the Education Secretary was transferred. He was replaced by an IAS officer from the Animal Husbandry Department who has severe multi-crore corruption charges against him. The entire crisis around paper leaks and NEET was about systemic corruption. Replacing one bureaucrat with another facing serious corruption allegations is a direct INSULT to young people across India. Is this the "compromise" the government expects us to accept?
