btw i am not shaming artists for pricing things low, sometimes its desperation or lack of confidence. but i think it shouldn't be normalized where people think it's a standard and respectable price

@pseudogeny @suiika___ @sh_mallows Yep, I have a clean art account just for posting fan art and 3D modelling , and I struggled quite a bit at first on where to put my prices, especially because I was quite mediocre at blender for quite a long time tbh.

when I first started taking commissions I would offer 25 USD sketches and I would do 40 in a month to pay my bills ☠️

@pseudogeny @suiika___ @sh_mallows And it goes back to the topic of [When you don't have a following] where you should be putting your prices, go too high and the few people that are interested won't bother, too low and some people will even think it's a scam. I would only raise prices when the demand gets higher.

@Neiver50514991 @suiika___ @sh_mallows oh also, those artists are most likely working from a country with weak currency. so the exchange rate is good for them and they lower the price. but those prices are just not realistic in most cases, i dont think it should be normalized to slave away for 1$/h. its misinformation

@pseudogeny @suiika___ @sh_mallows Nope, unless you have a solid background as an artist and the following, 50 is quite expensive. There is a LOT of super great artists out there with very reasonable prices ranging from 20 to 40 bucks, sometimes you see even big artists with only 60 bucks full shots...
