First international conference at #2025ISMPMI Happy to be here sharing some work from my first year of PhD. Curious about the potential role native plasmids play in Sphingomonas-plant interaction? Come by at p162 on Tuesday!

I was waited two years to see this out!! The genomic location of bacterial genes is not random. Congratulation on the authors (@MartinJLercher and Team!). An impresive piece of work! #tab-contributors" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… A small thread !

"we engineered Pseudomonas strains as inducible platforms for the delivery of antifungal and antibacterial effectors, targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and fungi."

Happy to share our paper from a new research line led by @camolsan, where we engineered the T6SS of Pseudomonas putida to deliver effectors against bacterial competitors and fungal pathogens like Botrytis cinerea. jbioleng.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… @IHSM_CSIC_UMA #T6SS

The remarkable Starships - large mobile elements capable of moving large genomic regions in fungal populations. Changes everything we thought we knew about horizontal gene transfer among fungi and the mobility of large proportion of pan genomes ⁦@Hulk_Vogan#ECFG17

You can now download the entire community matrix for ~83,000 samples (with metadata) and ~75,000 fungal taxa with just one click! Explore the GlobalFungi database.
GlobalFungi@globalfungi

The GlobalFungi team is happy to announce that data downloads are now available from GlobalFungi (globalfungi.com). No matter if you are interested in fungal genera, species or species hypotheses, you can now get their sequence counts in all samples at once.

We are pleased to announce our new book: The World of Zero-Inflated Models: Using GLLVM. Zuur and Ieno (2025) This book explores modern statistical methods for analyzing complex datasets, focusing on multivariate models, mixed-effects models, and latent variable models. GLLVMs integrate GLMs and GLMMs with multivariate analysis techniques, allowing multiple response variables to be modeled within a single framework. Key topics include count data models with excess zeros and distributions such as Poisson, negative binomial, zero-inflated Poisson, zero-inflated negative binomial, and Tweedie. The book also provides practical guidance on implementing these models in R using the gllvm package. Designed for researchers, statisticians, and analysts working with multivariate ecological, environmental, or social science data, this book is also a practical resource for R users looking to apply complex statistical models effectively. Each chapter includes detailed R code and case studies, demonstrating how to fit and interpret complex models, diagnose potential issues, and refine model performance. Emphasizing practical solutions, the book helps readers apply these methods to real-world datasets.
