Good morning☀️ Start your day by asking yourself this question: “How can I serve someone else today?” Then, do that.

Remember parents.. Now that you're teachers, Fridays are jeans days (with appropriate school spirit-wear t-shirt).. It's been a long week! You've earned it :p

When Learning Fails to Occur, the Average Teacher says, "They didn't learn it." The Greats say, "I didn't Teach it well." #edchat #education

The worst thing we can do to struggling readers is to remove them from science and social studies instruction when providing them with "interventions". #edchat #education

Only undivided attention will close an achievement gap. Not a device, app, or program. Never. At risk children need us beside them, eyeball to eyeball, full of urgency and love. #edchat #education

Your classroom might literally be the only place where that scholar can receive love. Please, don’t forget that.

Yesterday afternoon was trash. Told the class that it was a wash, and that tomorrow would be better. I’d show everyone grace. Today, the afternoon class was amazing. Told them how thankful I was for them getting it together. Progression, not perfection. #ShowThemGrace

"If every teacher would treat assignments as the first draft, give feedback on that draft & let kids revise their work then you will see kids producing better work. Kids need to know you don't do your best work on the first draft." - Dr. Pedro Noguera #LeadingEquitySummit

You can’t discipline trauma. So true. A student returning to you from break may very well have experienced some type of trauma. Pay attention to emotions, behaviors and interactions.
