I am happy to report that all 200 mainframes in Poughkeepse, NY have successfully passed this FREE earthquake test! Whitehouse Station, New Jersey is about 100 miles SW of our test facility. earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/ev…

@dogshep01 We don't do the test in our data center. We do earthquake testing at a specialized 3rd party facility in Reno, NV.

Vintage repair at @ComputerHistory. One of the IBM 729 tape drives would load a tape and then hang instead of rewinding it. I tested multiple (unreliable) relays, but that wasn't the problem. Eventually we found the Reset switch had failed and this inexplicably blocked rewind.
