It's probably been this way for awhile. But this past week really did give the impression that Square Enix are becoming disenchanted with Sony. The fact that they chose NOT to showcase either of these games at last week's State of Play, is stunning. Especially in KH4's case.

TELL ME THIS ISN'T REAL!!! 😭😭😭 PlayStation really has no games after all...

#Xbox has lost significantly more on ABK than PlayStation has on Bungie, based on the data available. PlayStation puts Bungie's impairment losses at $800m. ABK specific losses by FY25 Q1 alone were already a whopping $1.8bn. And the losses may have continued after that, but they stopped reporting ABK specific financials. As you were discussing, we also know Xbox are making ~$500m less revenue today, in large part down to Call of Duty Black Ops 7 underperformance. That's already potentially $2.3bn+ in losses from ABK (though full unreported losses may be greater), vs $800m impairment losses on Bungie. Keep in mind $1.2bn of the $3.6bn PlayStation paid for Bungie, was in retention schemes, and given the missed targets and massive layoffs, they not be paying much of that retention fee. Meaning the amount Xbox has lost on ABK, could actually be fairly close to what Sony paid for Bungie. The kicker is ABK might've also faced impaired losses to its value, but those are unlikely to be eaten by Xbox or publicly specified, so the real cost could again, be far greater. Another interesting titbit is that even in 2025, losses on ABK had already far exceeded what Microsoft had forecast. They expected ABK to post 3 quarters of acquisition and integration related costs totalling $2.2bn, before turning profit. In reality they posted 4 quarters of related costs totalling $3.92bn, and again, may have posted further losses we wouldn't know about as they stopped reporting. It means costs not only dragged on at least a quarter longer than Microsoft projected, but that they were at minimum 80% higher than they projected too.

@AnAverageGamerX Resident Evil Veronica day 1 Call of Duty day 1 Kingdom Hearts 4 day 1 Onimusha day 1 Final Fantasy 7 Revelation day 1 And Sony fanboys really think nothing is gonna change when Nintendo gets everything

I say this with as much malice as I can muster — FUCK YOU KATIE PORTER, YOU PIECE OF SHIT.
