@PsychSci The source is publicly available data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

@AE_Konkel
A couple questions regarding hiringlab.org/2019/11/05/tra…
1.
From what source is hourly wage drawn? Tax data? Self-report by employees? Self-report by companies? A sample of job postings?
English

@AE_Konkel 2. "Over the past decade, the Transportation and Warehousing industry increased by 1.3 million workers." How does this compare to other, similar-sized industries over the same timeframe?
Thanks!

@JeffRouder Thomas Jefferson noticed this 200 years ago:

As we slip ever deeper into partisan #EchoChambers, a thread on how echo chambers form based on my research with Balazs Kovacs of @YaleSOM in @PsychSci (1/n)

@DesignationSix Been there, done that [using it a lot less, that is...for convenience's sake, I probably won't ever delete it]

Who wants to be a bad ass like Stephen King and take #TheStephenKingChallenge to delete your Facebook or at least use it a lot less?

Do we still need "gatekeepers" in #science?

@CoyneoftheRealm Sadly not terribly surprising, given all I've read about QRPs over the past few years :/

Repressed memories of social psychology (2014): Estimated that 82% of multiple-study articles in Psych Science 2009-2012 used Questionable Research Practices #QRPs to get positive results in all studies replicationindex.com/2019/12/22/psy…

@DrVicSimms @APA @PsychScience No worries; the two are easy to confuse. Just wanted to set the record straight for posterity.
As if posterity will actually care about my humble blog :)

@ChristinaAPD @JessMKnoll @nytimes Short answer: signalling theory.
"Indeed, we are constantly social-signaling when around others...even when deliberately trying not to."

"Wellness is a white, privileged enterprise catering to largely white, privileged, already thin & able-bodied women, promoting exercise only they have time to do & Tuscan kale only they have resources to buy" - amen to that! @CaulfieldTim @DrJenGunter

@deankoontz Seize the Night, Tick-Tock, The Vision. Currently reading The Silent Corner.
English

@deankoontz Tick-Tock is among my favorite books! A wonderful combination of terror and laugh-out-loud humor.
Seize the Night, however, stands alone at the top. Still waiting patiently for the third Christopher Snow novel...
English

@alecdshane You've written that you haven't been scared in a while - have you read Dean Koontz's Seize the Night?
You'll sleep with the light on. Guaranteed.
English

@talyarkoni my one regret about the paper on the slow progress of soft psychology is that some have been led in the direction of naive dualism, and others to embrace the trivial rather than the meaningful. forgive me, that's two reasons.

@joshwhitkin @vaclavspac @jamesheathers And, there's debate about the implications of Kahneman & Tversky's original research from the 70s; see ergonomicsindesign.com/2014/07/gigere… for an effective overview.
English

@vaclavspac @jamesheathers +1...please tell me that theory still stands.
