Must watch #BBCQT Caroline Lucas, "I think this is an illegal reckless war with Iran that is being waged by Trump and Netanyahu" "They have massively underestimated their enemy" "Trump is a bully and a blackmailer" "He has no plan for an exit strategy, says he will exit when he feels it in his bones" "This is a President said who said he would bomb Kharg island just for fun" "He suggested he might attack Cuba as well" "The type of language Trump and Hegseth are using is just so disgusting" "I've got their words: watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today, what a great honour to kill them" "This is not Grand Theft Auto, this is real people real lives" "And yet you get the sense from the White House that this is some big game" "And all of us are suffering from it"

Nick wasn’t criticising Islam he was arguing for Muslims to be excluded from the right to freedom of speech , expression and religion that every other community in our country enjoys He was targeting people not a religion And the PM rightly felt that was unacceptable and sackable - I agree. Nick would have been sacked by Thatcher and Major and numerous former Conservative PMs

A new poll shows 52% of Americans believe Donald Trump planned attacking Iran to distract from the Epstein files, which is a bit outlandish to suggest he 'planned' anything

@RupertLowe10 Schools that do it in my experience move one of their 5 inset days to Eid. The children have the same number of days of teaching as everyone else

There shouldn't be a single school in Britain closing for any number of days because of Eid. A Restore Britain Government would not allow it.

As a Christian, I am pleased that we allow Muslims to meet and pray in Trafalgar Square. It means we live in a country where freedom of religion and respect for others is still alive. It is not, as the Faragists are now claiming, divisive.

As we focus on Iran and Lebanon, let's not forget what’s happening in the West Bank. In one year, more than 36,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced and 240 were killed. There were over 1,700 attacks by Israeli settlers. We must end U.S. military aid to Netanyahu.

Here’s what I think Trump actually believed going into Iran. 👇🏼 He looked at Venezuela and saw a blueprint. No full regime change. Regime change light. Find the right person on the inside — Delcy Rodriguez — flip them, bring them onside, create leverage against China in the process. Intelligence told him there were secularists in Iran. The protests in January. 85% of the population against the regime. He thought he saw his opening. That was the vision. But here’s where it fell apart. The Israelis went down the list and killed everybody. And Trump more or less admitted that from the Oval Office. The Americans and Israelis were aligned on the original strikes — and then their objectives completely diverged. Because Israel isn’t being transactional here. They can’t afford to be. Read the Iranian constitution. It says explicitly they want to export radicalism and end Israel. That’s not rhetoric. That’s doctrine. So imagine you’re the Prime Minister of Israel and a neighboring country has written into their founding document that destroying you is a primary national objective. You don’t negotiate with that. You eliminate it. Two allies. Same enemy. Completely different definitions of what winning looks like. That divergence is what’s driving everything right now.

BREAKING: The Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Joseph Kent, just resigned and his letter is devastating. He says Trump was “deceived” into war with Iran, pushed by misinformation and outside pressure, abandoning his own America First principles. And he says Iran never posed any imminent threat to America. Read the entire letter below.

Joseph Kent, a top counterterrorism official under Trump, just resigned. Kent and I don't agree on much, but he is right: "Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby."

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.
