Transitioning from university to industry has brought me closer to helping alleviate human disease in a way that can really scale. That's why I wake up excited about going to work at @intomics.

A few questions I’m considering❓ - What data modalities will be prioritized? - What new aspects of biology will be learned by increasing data size from 100M to 1B cells? - What will virtual cell models look like in reality? - Can this be done on a short (3-year) timeframe?

Big data often promises big insights, but it's the thoughtful applications that counts. 1. Human Genome Project taught us that big science pays off. But data without interpretation isn’t enough: Sequencing the genome was just step one. 2. Human Cell Atlas the showed that the challenge wasn’t just generating data—it was standardizing it so researchers could access and use it effectively. 💡 Billion Cells Project is clearly another moonshot moment for biology. But just like Human Genome Project, its success won’t be in the data itself—it’ll be in how we use it.

(Academic) research is great BUT… these numbers make me sad 🫣🤕 👇 Is this a problem we can fix?👇

The most exciting part of the project can now begin. Building foundation models of biology unifying all the data. That will transform all aspects of biology and medicine. nature.com/articles/s4158…

LEGO’s 11 Paradoxes of Leadership. I was recently visiting LEGO House with my 3-year-old-son. It's a treasure for learning for kids - and adults too. I came across these 11 leadership principles of LEGO.
