Just finishing reading a long review of series and movies on several streaming platforms, and it struck the majority, whatever the story is, have the main character confronting/being haunted by their "dark past", or "hidden traumas". They no longer keep it simple; boy meets girl, they get married and live happily ever after, or the good guy comes in beats or shoots up the bad guy, and goes back to a regular home.

@Onjerika In 1985 did a road trip (not solo though there were two of us) from India past Pakistan, Iran - days of Ayatollah Khomeni- into Turkey and on to Greece, then former Yougoslavia, Austria and into Germany. Only place we needed a visa which we got at the point of entry was, Iran.

Everyday in Lamu, I meet yet another female solo traveller. Not encountered any male solo traveller so far. In conclusion: Kenyan men don't hike, salsa or solo travel... so what do they do? Roadtrips??
