I'm in danger of going down a rabbit hole here, but I'm pre-reviewing a paper and the author has recommended a reviewer that I am sure does not exist. This person has a @Publons profile, but only as a reviewer. They are certainly not a Prof at the Uni the author has given.

I didn't know I appreciated those automated "thank you for reviewing" emails until I just finished an exhausting manuscript review and got nothing from the journal to forward to @Publons to feel like I accomplished anything today.

@Publons has the worst customer support. I requested to merge two profiles ~2 months back. Two customer support reps (Siva & Kowsalya) responded, but neither could complete their job. Very disappointing!

@Publons @spbecker @LinzAyearst Yep. Have done everything they’ve asked through several rounds of email. Not worth more of my time. If you can figure out this is me then please just merge the accounts and fix it. Til then I’ll assume web of science is too error prone to use for anything important.

Hey @Publons! If you want to make big $ capitalizing on academia's obsession with metrics and counting up our products, you might want to try getting them right. There are not two people with my same ridiculous two middle initials, but both of us did publish in 2020 and 2021.

@joel_c_miller Hi Joel, we apologise for this issue. The records have not been deleted from Publons this means if you have the "update your ORCID works from Publons" sync turned on your reviews will have been exported back to ORCID by now, if not you can set that up to sync now
