@Scrimdegen Exactly, a lot of the time when you see Vrel talk about content to include or exclude he mentions the identity of the game. It's something the devs pay close attention to and imo its a disservice to try to ignore the aspects of sex and sexual violence throughout the game

@pulse010101 I feel like if you take that sexual aspect away from DoL, you’re also taking away a large majority of its identity in that one act. I can see the importance of selectively taking ideas away from certain media, but I don’t think it’s warranted here. I’m fine with that, really.

I see people talk sometimes like the porn aspect of dol and the lore aspect are completely separate but I feel like the charm of it is that they're not. Every time I play a lore-heavy segment it always ties back to porn and I think thats beautiful

@knkwitch Right, even if you turned the encounter rate all the way to 0 it would still be a porn game! There may be other things like romance and mysterious happenings but it all still ties back to sex and perversion and that's why we love it

It's okay though I did think of a potential interesting dynamic with Gwylan and my PC. The actual game probably will play out nothing like it but I can just pretend. Also this is me revealing that I straight up dont play this game for months even when there are major updates lmao

I used to not play while thinking of my PCs much and just doing whatever I wanted, but once I got into thinking about their unique dynamics and personalities that emerged from the game play style I got attached to them. Now I cant play without thinking of their stories lol

Its so sad that my only PC with enough game progress to do Gwylan's stuff is the one with the least compatibility with her story-wise OTL Never give your PCs backstories and get attached to them

You might be onto something...

I like dol's approach to dating multiple characters, ie barely addressing it. I don't think the format of the game works for locking you to one LI for your whole run. Generally I consider the different romance events to be sort of "alternate timelines" for my PC
