#JungSungIl and #WiHaJun reportedly set to lead the upcoming historical action film The Kill List, based on the award-winning webtoon of the same name. Set during the aftermath of the Gyeyu Rebellion, The Kill List is described as a hard-boiled revenge action film centering around Lee Hwa, a young woman who loses everything because of political betrayal and violence. Consumed by revenge, she vows to eliminate Han Myeong-hoe, the powerful schemer responsible for creating the infamous “Kill List.” As she walks down a dark and dangerous path, Lee Hwa becomes part of Hwajepmong, a secret assassination group formed to take down those connected to the massacre and political corruption. The film is expected to combine intense action, sword fights, emotional revenge arcs, and large-scale political conflicts set in the Joseon era. The original webtoon gained major attention after winning the Grand Prize at the 1st Daum Online Comic Contest and was praised for its dark storytelling, strong female-led narrative, and gripping political intrigue. Casting is currently underway for the five female members of Hwajepmong, including protagonist Lee Hwa, whose transformation into a feared assassin is expected to serve as the emotional core of the story.
