Basically, the Union Govt is trying to impose Hindi on the South through the CBSE !! Quite a lot of schools in TN offer French as 3rd language due to the abundance of French speakers/ teachers in Pudhuchery !! English is the link language for the South, so you can't call it foreign due to its utility !! Could we also call Hindi foreign because of its significant Persian/Farsi admixture ?

CBSE just overhauled its entire secondary school curriculum! *Third language compulsory from Class 6 (2026-27), in board exams by 2031 *ENGLISH is officially classified as a FOREIGN LANGUAGE *At least 2 of 3 languages must be Indian *Maths and Science get a two-tier system from 2026-27 *AI and Computational Thinking become compulsory board subjects from 2029 *Vocational education becomes an examinable subject from 2027-28 The Class 6 batch starting this year will be the first to go through it all
