UPDATE: The City of Windhoek Police Spokesperson has confirmed that the car crash incident in Khomasdal this morning involved a 32-year-old man who entered the Khomasdal City Police Office claiming he had been assaulted and robbed. While officers asked him to wait outside, the man allegedly took a police vehicle key from a nearby desk and drove off with the vehicle. He later crashed it into a private property on Richardine Kloppers Street, a few metres from the Khomasdal City Police Office. Authorities confirmed the suspect is a mental health patient currently receiving medical attention. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
