@unixterminal I’m so sorry to hear this. I was able to be with my father during his final moments 4 years ago when he passed away and was also thankful for every second I could spend with him. But it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

Whoa! Based on the cursor I’m guessing the older A320 @AirCanada planes run Windows (CE?) on the inflight entertainment systems. Not fast but that’s not really needed once you’re watching. And at least this older flight claims to have WiFi! Let’s see if it works once we’re in the air. 🤣

The problem with everyone fleeing this birdsite, including the bird, is that it feels like we're all bugs scampering away after someone lifted up the rock. Where is everyone going?

@duolingo Lets see, two companies with bird logos that make annoying changes to their platform and ignore all the users that beg them to stop. Puts you on equal footing I guess. I never wanted to see twitter nor duolingo to fail, yet here we are.

@olofj GPUs are accidentally useful in these early days of ai/ml in much the same way that they were useful in the early days of crypto mining. I suspect we could hit their limits pretty quickly though, in much the same way that ASICs quickly became the only viable option for mining

The comments are amusing. So many don’t get the point. And so many defend nvidia as not being the possible example for AI. 🤷‍♂️

@duolingo After the last big update screwed up everything so bad, do what you want. Nobody cares at this point. Let us know if you ever come to your senses, but until then, Duolingo is terrible for language learning.

To be completely clear, I have nothing against Duolingo. At the start, it was a great idea and I loved it. Some updates were good, some not but it still worked ok. But the single path update made it unsuable. I'd love to hear that it's getting fixed, but it doesn't look likely.

So thank you @duolingo for messing up so badly, and thank you for ignoring requests from customers who were literally trying to pay you money. You helped me find something much better, and it's even free.

After the latest #duolingo update made it unusable, their refusal to fix it, I almost gave in. I contacted @duolingo to ask about getting a family subscription since I couldn't find a good alternative. No replies ever. I found something better though: chrome.google.com/webstore/detai…
