@pyrogoyf Personally I think they would look past all of the people in their mid 40s & the crypto Logan Paul fans hoarding RL stuff when they make billions from making a "we're undoing the RL" set.

I think banning a cost-prohibitive card in paper environments is a net positive for Legacy, even if it feels like more should’ve been done.

@harmonyjwoods I think a lot of the hate for the ban comes from reanimator sticking around after three BNRs trying to curb it. Wotc took too many half measures and now people don’t trust their judgement. That being said Candlabra was a pretty good ban but tron shouldve taken a second hit.

bnr thoughts for legacy/vintage: banning candelabra is fine. if they dont want to axe tron/post like decks it makes sense, and i think it'll push it down to a point that's more reasonable. not banning car in legacy is debatable but fine not restricting car in vintage is silly

To elaborate, the best version of your deck shouldn’t be stopped by a $16,000 price difference. The best version of a deck also shouldn’t have 12 ancient tombs, but either way Candelabra had to go. Stop being afraid of banning more than one thing!!!!

@ChironTheMage I’m not saying that’s healthy, but I do think candlestick needed a ban regardless. Not thrilled that was the only card wotc thought was a problem though!!!

I swear the Standard section of the ban list update says essentially the same thing ever time. The formula is basically. 1.) Say the format is good (but don't use "flourishing"...) 1.) Admit that Izzet and Badgermole decks are dominate, but then tell everyone really it's not that bad guys. 2.) Call out a deck that went from tier 2 to tier 1 as an example of how the format is good and evolving. 3.) Empathize with players by saying the format is too fast and too powerful (but follow that up by reiterating you aren't taking any action to fix it). 4.) Ask for more time by reminding everyone that you are "learning" and "getting better at designing" 5.) No changes, but don't worry, we'll be watching closely for the rest of the year.
