🐱 i am anxin from ald1. i am in the maknae line and in charge of vocals (smile)
👤 i heard you were a child actor in china
🐱 i wanted to be a celebrity from the beginning. i wanted to be a singer, then i got the opportunity to act so i did it for about 1 year. doing it when i was young was so fascinating.
👤 what reason made you want to become a singer, specifically a kpop idol?
🐱 i saw an edit of exo sunbaenim’s concert performance, at that time, i thought the “baby don’t cry” stage was so cool. i wanted to be an artist like exo sunbaenim so i took on the challenge of becoming a kpop idol. so i entered a company in china and started preparing.
👤 after that you participated in a korean survival show
🐱 when i was in china and the company gave me this proposal i was taken aback. i couldn’t speak korean back then. but i wanted to seize the opportunity so i came to korea. we started filming immediately so i had no time to learn korean. as such i couldn’t communicate well, i got by with help from staff who knew chinese and by using papago. other trainees also took care of me well.
👤 unfortunately, the final result of your first survival show was “elimination”. but you still didn’t give up
🐱 after getting eliminated (i didn’t go back to china) i received training in korea for 6 months. i thought there would be a lot of opportunities to stand on stage here so i had to keep going
👤 1 year later you participated in mnet survival show boys2planet. since it was your second time, i’m sure the pressure must have been immense. you were ranked at the top every round, so i imagine the burden was even greater.
🐱 (because it was my second time) i thought i had to do better. also (since my ranking was high) the burden to protect this ranking was greater. i had the desire to always do well on stage.
👤 were there any benefits of this being your second attempt?
🐱 my korean improved so i was able to communicate with my fellow trainees. in the meantime, my skills improved by studying korean and talking with my friends. i’ve been taking korean lessons for 6 months now, i would give myself around 50 points.
👤 after working extremely hard, you debuted as ald1. i imagine your feelings must have been quite unusual.
🐱 when i became a member of ald1, i thought “this is just the beginning”. i felt proud that i was able to debut after all the hard work i put in
👤 you once mentioned that you were a fan of sangwon and leo when you were a trainee. it must be great to have become part of the same team as them.
🐱 when we first started i couldn’t believe i was on the same team as leo hyung and sangwon hyung. now that some time has passed i think we’re all just friends (laughs)
