@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Saber also worked on that, when they were working on Halo Online - a Browser Version of Halo. They had no problem. Eldewrito created their own ports to PC before they were shut down by Microsoft.

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Doesn't stop other studios from creating or recreating these engines. Plus, I'd have to argue otherwise, considering that we've had MCC and Halo 2:GFWL, so there was definetely an experience with creating a multiplatform Halo game.

Glenn Israel just shared his own message on Reddit about protecting the innocent Halo developers. He first explained why the ideas that Halo managers/devs hate Halo and force a “woke agenda” are completely false. He then said we’re not wrong for being angry about leadership and wanting things to be better for Halo. But like I said in my post, we need to direct our feelings where it belongs: management. We must hold management accountable and protect the devs! #Halo

Since many people, including myself, have discussed the serious Microsoft and Halo Studios leadership problems, it’s very important for all of us to voice our support for the passionate, hardworking developers who’ve done nothing wrong. Leadership problems are caused by certain, corrupt individuals who aren’t able to do their job. They are the ones who must be held responsible, while the innocent developers are protected. I always receive comments saying “it’s time to shutdown Halo Studios.” No, it’s time for Microsoft to remove the guilty leaders and protect innocent developers! #Halo

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Like, I didn't hear ID software complaining their engine was old, when they remade it (and these guys had to fully restart the development at some point). Still released a full game with everything.

@qnlockt @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ What are you talking about? It took bungie 5 years to rebuild the blam engine to the tiger engine so it could remain functional for multiplatform with destiny. It’s very clear that creative crisis forces the studio to allocate people to work on the engine

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Because creative crisis doesn't affect technical side of thing. You'd have a couple features more, a couple less, a game feeling a little incomplete, but nothing like the shitshow that Infinite turned out to be, to the point that there are no BASIC features. There are

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Either way they should have remade the engine without issues then. They wouldn't go without it either way, they needed improvements in that field regardless of what kind of creative crisis they were facing.

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ What kind of lack of direction should you have to fuck up a technical ground up remake of an engine? 343 had an artistical lack of direction and no clear idea how to approach new story, true, but that shouldn't affect the technical side of things.

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ That explanation simply doesn't work when they HAD a direction. There was content in the game datamined YEARS before released. There were roadmaps, and shit. I understand in development, but how could it be a problem with delivering content afterwards?

@qnlockt @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ I literally just told you. Lack of direction. When have you ever heard in the existence of gaming that a studio decides to overhaul a series in the middle of a climax (Halo 5) It’s been stated that the studio was indecisive on where they wanted the next game to go

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Then what's your explanation then? If you think that's not the issue, what is? Why did 343 lose the golden opportunity it had when BF42 and COD flopped and people hopped on Infinite enmasse?

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Then explain to me WHY there was no content at launch and why 343 couldn't add anything to the live service game, had constant bugs, and issues developing stuff when they HAD a clear roadmap?

@qnlockt @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Slipspace engine wasn’t the issue. Again. Lack of direction causes everything to fuck up. It launched in a barebones state because they kept on making games and resetting it. They fucked themselves over by not continuing the path halo 5 made.

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Excuse me, but do you happen to live under the rock? Literally everybody blamed contractor issues for New Engine's bad state and lack of content! Everybody blamed it for engine being so uncooperative, they couldn't input Fuel Cannon as is and had to shove it as RL skin.

@qnlockt @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ It isn’t false. 343 couldn’t figure out on the direction they wanted to take halo after 5. This caused a lack of direction on infinite. Contractors have little to no impact on why infinite turned out the way it did.

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Then why did Slipspace engine fuck up then in your opinion? Why did it take axing 2/3 of the entire content to release the game? Why did it launch in such a barebones state and why did it receive so few updates at launch? Halo 4 & 5 worked fine. What changed now?

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Theres also the fact that the info you submitted seems to be straight up false. Bungie relied on small amount of in-house workers that worked for long term, literal years if not decades They had help from other studios but it's not the same as having more than half of your staff

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ I mean yeah, only to overwork them and try to turn Halo into a conveyor game to release year after year. And when the game released, devs didn't receive their financial bonus for the games high scores. Microsoft didn't keep their promise.

@qnlockt @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ Microsoft leadership and executives saw how much Bungie was struggling with CE so they sent an experienced person to fix the problems Bungie clearly had.

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ They had a right idea at the time, but they were unwilling to compromise on their terms of achieving it. Also a lot of stuff recently seems to suggest that they didn't care all that much about the devs than executives and leadership. (Still don't)

@ThelVanDamne @ODSTvolkor @CptDuDuBronze @Mr_Rebs_ And even then, that's not a guarantee. Look at Halo Infinite! It was clear contractor system was bullshit in this kind of large work, but would anyone change that? Would anyone at Microsoft accept that you have to pay above the bare minimum with all the benefits? Hell nah.
