@ZineMatica Watched this recently and for me Xander Berkley stole the movie with his unhinged psycho performance. The other bad guys were kind of toothless and didn't provide much threat.

Thanksgiving 1990 after we ate dinner we sat around the TV my dad asked if we should watch a movie. I popped up and put THE RETURN OF SWAMP THING in the VCR.
My family was not amused.

"The Return of Swamp Thing" was released on this day in 1989. Enormously entertaining superhero sequel from director Jim Wynorski and screenwriters Neil Cuthbert and Grant Morris. Highlights: Fun cast (Dick Durock, Louis Jourdan, Heather Locklear, and Sarah Douglas); terrific Chuck Cirino score. While "The Return of Swamp Thing" recouped its production budget at the box office, it wasn't as successful as the original film. With its focus on humor, special effects and comic book action, I thought this sequel was much better than the original movie. Incredibly underrated.

@CinemaTweets1 I distinctly recall seeing big stand ups featuring the cast in a theater lobby and thinking it was going to be a banger. Minor quibbles aside it delivered big time. Cool ass dialogue, wild characters and slam bam action. Good times.

Smokin’ Aces slander is not tolerated in my household. You don’t get to talk shit about a film that includes Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck, Jeremy Piven, Chris Pine, Jason Bateman and Andy Garcia. Back off. I love this film’s style, cast & setting (Vegas, baby). Put some respect on it.

The Taking of Beverly Hills (1991) - Die Hard rip with Ken Wahl as Boomer Hayes, the quarterback hero who kicks ass in his football jersey. Throwing ninja stars at the bad guys while Faith No More’s “Epic” blasts? You don’t get much more epic than that!
