People love judging a man by the headlines. Most people know 50 Cent because he survived getting shot nine times. I respect him for something completely different. Back in 2004, during the Iraq War, he flew into Camp Anaconda, a base so dangerous our troops nicknamed it “Mortaritaville” because rockets and mortars hit it almost daily. Before his plane even landed, a missile had already struck the base. Imagine hearing that before stepping off the aircraft. A soldier looked at him during the flight and said, “I’m not going to lie to you… you could die today.” He got off the plane anyway. He put on body armor, walked onto that stage in brutal desert heat, and performed for thousands of American troops who had to wear full combat gear just to attend the concert because the base had been attacked. The heat was so relentless he reportedly needed IV fluids afterward. That wasn’t about album sales. It wasn’t about publicity. It wasn’t about building a brand. It was about reminding young Americans serving in a war zone that people back home hadn’t forgotten them. You don’t have to like his music to respect that kind of courage. Walking toward danger when you have every opportunity to walk away says more about a person’s character than a hundred interviews ever could. Respect where it’s due. God bless our military, and thank you, 50 Cent, for standing with them when it actually meant something. #AStoneGroove #SilentMajoritySpeaks

Stopped for gas in Kentucky… saw the sign ‘We have disco bathrooms’ and thought it was a joke 😂 Went in, spotted the big red button that said ‘DO NOT PUSH THIS BUTTON’… obviously I pushed it. Next thing I know, lights out, disco ball spinning, and I’m having an impromptu dance party in the bathroom! 💃🕺✨ Who else is hitting every Hop Shop on the road trip now?! Never trust a button that tells you not to push it! 😂

Colonel John W. Ripley was one of the most courageous and legendary Marines in American military history. Born in 1939 in Radford, Virginia, Ripley graduated from the United States Naval Academy and dedicated his life to serving his country. A highly respected Marine officer, he served with distinction in Vietnam and throughout a remarkable military career. His most famous act of heroism came during the Easter Offensive on April 2, 1972, at the Dong Ha Bridge in South Vietnam. As a massive North Vietnamese armored force advanced south, Ripley understood that if the bridge remained standing, enemy tanks and troops could cross and overwhelm South Vietnamese and allied defenses. Under relentless machine-gun, artillery, and tank fire for nearly five hours, Ripley climbed beneath the bridge, hanging from steel girders with ropes and his bare hands while carrying heavy explosives. Working largely alone, he methodically placed approximately 500 pounds of explosives across the span. When the charges detonated, the bridge collapsed, halting the enemy advance and buying critical time for defending forces. His extraordinary actions helped stop an entire North Vietnamese division and became one of the most remarkable feats of battlefield heroism in Marine Corps history. For decades, Marines, veterans, and military historians believed Ripley's actions warranted the Medal of Honor. Although he was awarded the Navy Cross, many continued to advocate for the nation's highest military decoration to recognize his extraordinary valor. After more than five decades, that recognition finally came. In 2026, Congress authorized the upgrade of his award to the Medal of Honor. On June 18, 2026, nearly 54 years after his heroic actions at Dong Ha Bridge and 18 years after his passing, Colonel Ripley was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor at a White House ceremony. President Donald Trump presented the medal to Ripley's family, ensuring that one of the greatest acts of courage in Marine Corps history received the recognition it deserved. Colonel Ripley passed away on October 28, 2008, but his legacy continues to inspire generations of Marines, sailors, soldiers, and military leaders. He also left a lasting impact at Virginia Military Institute, where he mentored and shaped future leaders through his example of courage, honor, and selfless service. A warrior. A leader. A legend. Colonel Ripley almost singlehandedly stopped a North Vietnamese division by placing explosives on the Dong Ha Bridge while under five hours of continuous tank, artillery, and machine-gun fire. His courage changed the course of a battle and saved countless lives. Honored to see his family receive this long-overdue Medal of Honor. Can you imagine this? Your wife finishes an overnight shift in the ER. She’s exhausted. All she wants to do is come home to you. Then she sees someone who needs help. She doesn’t drive by. She pulls over. Because that’s who she was. Former Marine. ER nurse. The kind of woman who ran toward people when everyone else was running away. She and another former Marine stopped to help a crash victim. They never made it home. According to investigators, a suspected slob drunk driver slammed into them, ending the life of a woman whose last act on this earth was trying to save someone else’s. Her husband wasn’t waiting to identify her body. He was waiting for his wife to walk through the front door. Instead, he got the kind of phone call that changes a life forever. She had just celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary. They had plans to hike every national park in America together. She had just been accepted into the Air Force as a second lieutenant. Their future was wide open. Now all that’s left are memories… because one slobs reckless decision erased an entire lifetime that belonged to someone else. Her husband said he hopes she’s “patrolling the pearly gates looking for somebody that needs help.” That tells you everything you need to know about the woman he loved. Rest in peace, Nery Benitez. Some people leave this world exactly the way they lived in it. Helping others. #AStoneGroove #SilentMajoritySpeaks
