tw: mentions of suicide september is suicide prevention month and today marks 5 years since my 5th and most recent attempt. 5 years. it’s been a whole 5 years since I decided to live and it was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. sometimes I honestly don’t even know if it was the right decision or not. throughout the past 5 years I’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs but im grateful for all of the memories I got to experience since then. I graduated with a BA and an MA and currently at my dream school pursuing my EdM as I start to begin PhD applications soon. Especially as my health has been very unpredictable the past few years, it’s been a mental journey and it will be interesting to see what happens next. Just know that if you have ever experienced these thoughts or anything similar, just know that you are not alone in this. you are loved and cared for more than you realize. you deserve the whole world and remember that you have so many experiences and new memories to look forward to if you keep going. don’t be afraid to reach out for help or if you ever need a listening ear. 🤍
