Using the immune system to target tumours has transformed cancer care, but immunotherapy does not work for everyone. Some patients do not respond, and researchers have struggled to explain why. #QueensU researcher Sébastien Talbot has traced part of the answer to nerves inside tumours that release signals which can disrupt the body’s immune response and make treatments less effective.
