@querythepast Interesting comments about how recently formed identity categories are then projected back into the past. Presentism. Very common. I liked the doc (not just b/c I was in it). It was not the usual dancing-on-our- graves narrative. It was sensitively and thoughtfully done.

@nascar_opinion @NASCAR Probably right. I remember reading that if the points format hadn't changed, he would have gotten to 7 championships. More wins than Dale Sr. and a far more competitive field than Richard Petty ever faced.

NASCAR got this one wrong imo. Bell didn’t advance his position with his “Half hail melon”. Meanwhile Byron didn’t lose any positions due to fellow competitors violating the 100% rule. Either penalize them both, or neither of them. Bias is hard to deny with this call.
