This is how electrical stunning is performed in slaughterhouses. A controlled electric current is applied for a few seconds to cause immediate loss of consciousness before slaughter. The goal is that the animal does not perceive pain during the process.

@yajnadevam Some of the Brahmin subgroups including the aforementioned Bengali and Tamil do seem to have have a noticeably higher intellectual achievement streak though right? You are saying thats due to culture? Surely there is a genetic effect atleast with some subgroups?

This chart suggests that Bengali Brahmins are the least intelligent of the Brahmins and have lower IQ than OBC. I could make sensational tweets about this for engagement farming and glorify south Indians. However, since most people on X, including alleged geneticists have a weak grasp of basic maths, I will take this opportunity to educate you on the caste/ancestry BS: Like almost all genetic data, this suffers from unfair sampling bias. Primarily this data is of the apex of the people who were admitted (not applied) to Columbia. It may simply reflect groups who are geographically close to the region. A similar chart of say Stanford should be expected to have an unrelated distribution. If you did not already know this within a minute of looking at this chart, you should not be in the business of interpreting any such charts. Unfairly sampled data can be used to plot charts but such charts do not have any meaningful information. This chart for example, should not lead to the conclusion that south Indians are smarter all by itself. Secondly, most caste self-identification is not set in stone for centuries. They group and regroup. We know that the Konkani speaking Hindus fled the Goa inquisition, they all essentially merged into the Brahmin caste, despite carrying their non-Brahmin surnames like Prabhu (ksatriya), Shenoy(Kayast), Kamat(Vaisya). Most importantly, the genetic profile of Indians is essentially uniform. There is absolutely no difference between a 45% IVC 30% Steppe 25% AASI versus 70% IVC, 10% Steppe and 20% AASI. This is because genetic variation between siblings can be up to 20%. That is why one sibling can be taller/fairer/curly haired and the other can look significantly different. Almost all differences among Indians are by tradition and culture. Certain groups focus on education, others on agriculture and some others on business. While actual IQ differences likely exist, it is due to a set of alleles that have nothing to do with these components. Think about it: Japanese have none of the 3 main ancestries of Indians but they have high IQ. Everything that steppe kangers have attributed to ancestry is provably wrong. There are no answers in small % differences in components of ancestry.
yajnadevam@yajnadevam

If this is accurate, then south Indian non-brahmin Hindus must score more than 1510 SAT average.

You know how the Tamil Brahmin who votes for the BJP is the underclass of the upper caste? I am starting to think the NTK voters, analogously, are men who did terribly in school in rural TN.

@tirumuru_87 I tried to see reason here, I am still trying. Makes absolutely no sense to align with EPS now, he has 0 MPs to contribute. They should have atleast hard balled for seats, which they failed as well. I am guessing EPS strung them along and it was too late in the game to go solo

1) DMK will win comfortably. They will end up +/- where they ended up last time 2) BJP sold Annamalai down the river 3) Modi/Shah operate super long term and i do believe whatever they do is for the greater good. Also, it is not that they don’t make mistakes but they course correct very quickly. So they will course correct and when they do, some of the state unit BJP folks are not going to know what hit them. 4) I will hold my nose and vote for the NDA candidate. 5) Make no mistake, Admk will lose this election, and guess what, they will blame Annamalai.

Siva was our hero in those days. One can only imagine how these repeated experiences would have affected him. Though the word was never used in the piece, the caste-skin colour association is deep seated in India and a lot of colour based discrimination comes from the abuser 'assuming' the caste position of the dark skinned person. Such a sad read.

This is all nonsense. Black Brahmin is usually an unstoppable force of nature. Look at Black Brahmin Hardik Pandya. He faced all these insults and dominates. Stop making excuses for your binge drinking ruining your career.

@theliverdoc You stupid fuck, what are pediatricians and healthcare workers supposed to do if there is no NICU equipment to begin with?

Can I say something? Ok, I'm going to say it anyway. My heart dropped watching this. While the intent is commendable and the outcome fortunate, the technique is not correct, also terrifyingly dangerous, by current newborn resuscitation standards. And for a Pediatrician to do this, its downright negligence. The cornerstone of newborn resuscitation for an apneic (not breathing) baby is positive pressure ventilation (PPV) using a bag-and-mask device (self-inflating bag or T-piece resuscitator), not mouth-to-mouth. The standard sequence is: warm → dry → stimulate → clear airway → if still apneic/gasping, begin bag-and-mask ventilation within the "Golden Minute." Giving mouth-to-mouth is problematic (read: can kill) in newborns. The doctors cannot control the pressure or tidal volume delivered. Newborn lungs are extremely fragile, and uncontrolled breaths (as this doctor is giving) can rupture and burst their little lungs. Additionally, there is infection risk in both directions (doctor → newborn and newborn → doctor). It's not a monitored or standardized intervention. A CHC (Community Health Center) conducting deliveries is required to have a functional newborn resuscitation corner with a bag-and-mask device. That's a basic NSSK (Navjaat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram) mandate. If the doctor had to resort to mouth-to-mouth, it raises serious questions about equipment availability and facility preparedness - which is the real issue worth highlighting rather than celebrating this as heroism. The baby surviving is wonderful, but framing a suboptimal, potentially dangerous technique as "clap worthy" sets a problematic precedent. If you are a pediatrician and a healthcare worker in charge of newborns, please never, ever, do this to the child.
The Nalanda Index@Nalanda_index

Dr. Sulekha Chaudhary, Pediatrician at CHC Agra, saved a newborn’s life today. 👏🏼❤️ The baby was born without any movement. Oxygen support was given first, but when that didn’t help, Dr. Chaudhary performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation for nearly 7 minutes and the baby started breathing! A true hero in action. 🫶
