@n23hall This doesn’t come off as any surprise, but the transfer portal has not treated SJSU well. It’s difficult for the team to take large strides in the future when you have to find a replacement of your star player every offseason. If Kyri Shoels stays, however, a big year is ahead.

Changes are being made at SJSU after a 3-7 start in a season that began with high expectations. Derrick Odum spent 9 years as the team's DC. Head coach Ken Niumatalolo decided his staff needed changes after a bottom-ranked Nevada offense averaged 284 yards SJSU allowed 413.

SJSU just announced in a press release that defensive coordinator Derrick Odum and special teams coordinator Joe Palcic have been removed from their duties Inside linebackers coach Bojay Filimoeatu will serve at the interim defensive coordinator

The Spartans sit at a record of 3-7. For what's been nothing short of a disappointing season, they needed to make changes in order to turn things around in the future.
