@iamneilbarrett It’s so bad. I get the old site may have felt outdated but it was so simple. Only downside was endless pop up ads but we power through as lacrosse fans seeking content

Not tweeting much recently, so it could’ve been discussed, but does anyone else think the new Inside Lacrosse website is way worse than before?
The 2026 season is off & running, yet no rosters or stats on team pages + the recruit database is far less intuitive & hard to navigate

The live box score on desktop is debatably an improvement but everything else just feels like a worse product or they unintentionally over complicated things. Having to click “continue reading” to expand each article is getting really old fast

Through 7 weeks + ASG, the PLL is averaging ~210k viewers per game (+1.45% YoY through this timeframe)
The ASG highlighted past weeks, averaging ~268k viewers (+80% YoY) and is the PLL’s most-viewed ESPN broadcast ever
Sadly, UTAH/CAR on 7/18 was the least-viewed game since ‘22

@upstreamlax ABC is the largest US broadcast TV network + is in about 98% of American homes
ESPN is a pay cable network + is in about 70 million homes
Also, recent PLL on ABC games were lead-ins to big events like Caitlin Clark’s return & CWS. PLL benefits from ppl tuning in early to those

While an incredibly small sample size (just two comparable games), the non-ABC linear broadcasts this season are down significantly YoY at -65.38%
This will be something worth keeping an eye on as the season progresses, as only 4 of the 13 remaining linear broadcasts are on ABC

The Knighthawks are amongst the many Western NY pro teams Terry Pegula owns (Bills, Sabres, Bandits, etc)
For NLL growth & new investment, there’s an argument that Pegula leaving the Knighthawks can be seen as optimal

Rochester Knighthawks COO Pete Guelli says that as of June 30th, they will no longer operate the Knighthawks.
The organization is working with the NLL as it pursues new ownership opportunities.

The MCLA has changed tenfold over the last 15 years, with more & more programs embracing the ‘virtual varsity’ approach
That said, the bulk remain student-run organizations and the success of the club remains at the hands of the students operating it

It’s nice to see the most viewed game of 2025 so far not be during W1, which was the case in ‘23 & ‘24

The PLL’s lone national TV broadcast from Week 1 between the Archers v Whipsnakes (ABC) drew ~362k viewers. This game was down 14% from the same window in ‘24
For context, this game outdrew both NCAA Semis (ESPN 2) but was less than the NCAA Champ (ESPN) which drew ~569k viewers

NCAA Men’s Quarterfinal viewership notes:
1️⃣ CUSE/Princeton was the most-viewed game, averaging ~109k viewers
Most-viewed QF game since UVA/MD in ‘22 (116k viewers)
Weekend avg of ~80k viewers per game, up 38% from ‘24 (~58k per game)
📈 Total Tourney viewership is up 90% YoY
