@BeachBoysFan59 No wonder the dude only into the Beach Boys can’t appreciate anything that isn’t sentimental soft pop. Open your ears a little
English

@BeachBoysFan59 Low IQ take from you once again
English

its really funny when people defend that The Beatles had long songs with exclusively their worst song

@Postsemreh @Invictus75x @JoeMonFanta Elvis was simply a famous singer and cultural icon. No correlation to the Beatles. The Beatles laid musical groundwork for the Monkees and every rock band after them. Not acknowledging this fact just shows you have no idea what you’re talking about.
English

I never cared for the Beatles...

Y’all gotta stop acting like people give a fuck about the Beatles

@__IZ_US__ @JUSTIFYMYLUST2 Yep because the legal system has never been flawed and corrupt ever
English

@JUSTIFYMYLUST2 Yep, then this all got presented to an actual jury and MJ won across the board.
So yeah, feels vs reals.

Do people GENUINELY believe that Michael Jackson is the most influential artist of all time? Really?
Chrollo“🎴@GeneralChrollo
Amigo, estamos hablando del artista que revolucionó la industria musical y gracias a él existen los videos musicales Michael Jackson es la persona no bíblica más grande de la historia
English

@zeenohh @quadkanix I don’t think Justin Timberlake is trying to emulate MJ either though
English

@qwpcxf @quadkanix Mic The Snare has a Jackson retrospective where he stops the video at multiple points and goes "wait that was Michael???" it's genuinely too much shit for me to list out.
also Elvis was a rock star, not rly the same thing. guys like Justin Timberlake aren't trying to emulate him
English

@zeenohh @quadkanix Music videos were essentially pioneered by the Beatles (Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, Something) and were popular in the 70s before MTV.
Pet Sounds and Sgt Pepper (atleast in the UK) blurred the pop music/high art “line” in the 60s. Your other points are fair though.
English

@qwpcxf @quadkanix Pop "eras", music videos, MTV, pop crossing over to rock stations & taken seriously as an artform, and like half the way pop stars present themselves.
My mum grew up in communist China and Michael Jackson was the only artist that broke into that market, he was that ubiquitous
English

@zeenohh @quadkanix Elvis? Little Richard? Teen idols? What exactly did he invent? Dancing on stage? Lmao
English

@quadkanix He almost singlehandedly invented the concept of a pop star. he's not the most musically influential but he's up there in terms of cultural influence
