@mikegalsworthy @ShippersUnbound @HarryYorke1 @cazjwheeler Liz Truss chaotic plan was always going to cause the pound to slide. Any fund manager / investor worth their salt knew this weeks ago. Whether they encouraged the government upfront is of course a matter for the police.

⚠️ It’s hard to overstate how serious this is. I could use various terms for this behaviour, but… just have a read: [from Sunday Times]

I'm deeply concerned by reports that people are being arrested for expressing their views in support of a Republic. In a democracy, people must always have the right to peacefully express their opinions. I will be seeking to raise this in Parliament when it resumes next week.

@jrmallcock We ALL need to stop paying our bills. The monopoly on energy and oil must end!

@Lord_Sugar Plenty of people who don’t wfh still skive at work. Skiving whether in the office or wfh is the result of a lot of large companies removing middle management to save money! Any company worth its salt should understand what their employees are doing with their time!

A large percentage of people who work from home are lazy gits they got to like the life created by the pandemic. What about nurses, doctors, cleaners, restaurant staff, builders and decorators, taxi and truck drivers they cant work from home but provide the lazy gits a service.

@kevinsamuel @dontpayuk What we need to do is for ALL of us to stop paying, whether you can afford it or not. When no one pays and we all have a bad credit rating the whole system will come falling down. This global approach to the setting of energy/oil prices is corrupt and immoral.

@dontpayuk 1 - Who are you? 2 - Why doesn't your website alert potential participants to the possible impact of non-payment on their credit files and, therefore, their access to - and cost of - future credit including mortgages? Genuine questions. I'm not a Tory.

@RichardBurgon Maybe you should start by introducing some of your ideas in your constituency. Like better public transport. Do you remember your constituency @RichardBurgon ? You know the people who voted you in! All MPs too busy but playing silly boys and girls politics in WestMinster.

Key services like energy, water, mail and rail should be run in the interest of the public good not private profit. We can't go on with privatised firms ripping people off while millions face a cost-of-living emergency. They should be brought into public ownership as people want.

@RichardBurgon Seems to me we have some of the highest rail fares in Europe providing the poorest service. Let’s look to mend that. Also worth pointing out @RichardBurgon that Leeds is the only major city in England without a clear transport strategy!

Spain's President yesterday announced that train journeys will be free on short and medium journeys to help with the cost of living crisis. He's also introducing a tax on banks because they're profiting from higher interest rates. Let's fight for that here too!

@RichardBurgon Great idea, let’s grind the economy down some more and make everyone even poorer.

@RichardBurgon Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy and they just might not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas, where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

I have secured a Parliamentary debate next week on the case for Wealth Taxes. It's time to tax the wealth of the super-rich.

@RichardBurgon Well thought out @RichardBurgon . Labour is all about strikes. They never harm the economy do they? Tory or Labour doesn’t matter - UK is down the pan my friends.

Profits are soaring. Living standards are plummeting. The Tories don't see this as a failure. This is the economy they want: one that serves the super-rich.

@RichardBurgon Yes maybe, but only for the first year. After that all the rich people would leave the UK and take their money, acumen and investment elsewhere. Top idea Richard - this reminds me why I don’t vote Labour!

A 10% tax on wealth over £100m would raise over £69 BILLION. With that we could ensure no-one struggles through this crisis. It's time for a Wealth Tax on the super-rich.

@jonsnowC4 Oh how simply horrid for you! Whilst your on the train give some thought to the millions of people sat worrying about paying their bills or feeding their kids. Being in or out of the EU has little to no impact for many people!

From Sue Gray’s report- Of the 83 people to be fined, … More women were fined than men. I find this odd as, in the pics I’ve seen, there were more men that women. Are women just more guilty then, should they have known better, saved the men from themselves? Garden of Eden stuff.

@RichardBurgon If these key services were run anything like the NHS we’d have constant power cuts, no trains and probably have to queue for water. Corbyn lives on in the Labour Party then @RichardBurgon

I believe energy, rail, water and other key services should be publicly owned and run for people not profit - just as our NHS is. But in the meantime, they should face price controls so people can afford them. Corporate greed is driving this crisis. We need to put an end to it.
