I think one of the things I liked about NFTs in the early days, was the obsessing over traits, art, experiences, and creativity and how to blend it all together into community and fun. The problem was when the moonboys pivoted over to NFTs, it became a cesspool of trying to extract from a smaller and smaller more disillusioned set of holders and an ever increasing segmented community. Even the early days you felt the segmentation where people would leave the BAYC shortly after leveraging it to launch their own project, thinking they would dethrone the king. The newcomers cared less and less about traits and collecting and art, much less community, and cared more about timing the pumps. And the truth is the industry fed into that by baking gambling and other degeneracy right into the marketplaces. But the biggest driver of this was rewarding influencers (who shilled for the pumps) instead of collectors. This time around, project founders must resist the urge to reward influencers, and try and build their projects slowly on their own merits, and reward collectors, if any. Your project gets free marketing if it's cool enough. That is the power of social media. Paid shills gives your game away. As for patience, people forget that BAYC grinded upwards with many setbacks before reaching a crazy valuation over the course of many months. Many projects that followed were about selling out and expediting that process to extract royalties and generate hype. But remember, BAYC itself took ages to sell out, and as the founders will attest, they weren't sure that it would, several days in. To anyone starting a project in this climate: Keep it fun. Keep the mystery alive. Reward the artists. Reward the collectors. Don't give into the "reward the influencer" cycle, because it will bite you post-launch. Grind slow. Face the fear of not minting/selling out, and build an organic experience. The next wave of NFTs should take us on a journey. Reignite the childhood wonder, and restore our faith in humanity. Because if wave #2 just becomes about the charts, it will wither away into a snoozefest of a memecoin szn when the prediction market nerds get bored of getting fleeced by insiders, and flood into NFTs. They might be our exit liquidity, but don't cater to their bullshit. NFTs were the last bastion of "fair speculation", but if PvP products and games take over, and the 90% become disillusioned, they'll just sit out and wait for the next narrative. Don't let short term gains outweigh the real potential of this lasting culture vertical in crypto. The financialization of NFTs and not rewarding the artists is what killed the cool in the first place. Let's not make the same mistakes.

NFTs this time around will go much higher In 2021 the main problem was dilution of attention (there was a new mint every day) but we also dealt with obscene royalties and prohibitively expensive entry prices on prime collections, all of these issues are now solved We have only three S-tier collections with aged distributions that made it - Punks, Apes and Penguins, the majority of money will flow into these proven winners, the moat is their survival and y'all know I don't even like Penguins cause of their support of Solana but I'm being unbiased. For a new mint to compete the collectiom has to keep attention as long as these have (which will take 5 years!) this effectively ends the dilution issue that accelerated the downfall of NFTs New mints will fail in 2026 (KOLs will fight me on this cause that's how they get paid) but now too many flippers are paying attention and they'll be able to grab supply cheaply and forever hold back floor prices of these new collections after whatever inital crime pumps they muster NFTs that have survived this half-decade long double armageddon + triple nuclear winter total market heat death now have extremely strengthened distributions and at this point are truely rare. There is no way to speed run the kind of distributions they now wield in this brave new world The most hated rally will not be hated by just CT but the entire world *sends tweet and mutes thread*

My father passed a week ago Friday and I’m flying back from his funeral. Google Larry Haber and Frank Bolz and you’ll see just a glimpse of the kind of man he was. Held hostage in a bank in 1975, he worked with the NYPD Hostage Negotiation squad (the first in the world) to help free himself and others. He stayed even after the perp told him he could go and demanded the others leave first. Today members of the NYPD and the Hostage Squad came out, shoveled dirt on his casket and told stories about him and how he developed a 50 year friendship with Frank and the NYPD even helping train hostage teams from around the world from the perspective of a hostage. He was a victim that day but never let it being him down. He thought he was given a second chance on life and he damn well lived it to its fullest for another 50 years. He went on to become the Executive Vice President of RKO Cinemas, open his own financial consulting firm raising money for many creatives such as Spike Lee, Chris Blackwell from Island Records (my dad helped Chris fund U2’s Joshua Tree) and so many others. Then he opened a movie theater chain boasting 85 screens across the east coast. He was a loving Dad, a great businessman, and wonderful grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him and especially by me.
