Confirmation for Romania 🇷🇴 as well: 35 years of post-communist food improvement and higher amounts of protein contributed to the rise in average height by 6 cm.
This is the 2nd time such transformation occurs. Avg height 1866: 1m55 (male conscripts). 10 cm more by 1914.

In the mid-1800s, the average Dutch man was 5'4". Shorter than the average American. Shorter than most of their European neighbours. Today the average Dutch man is 6'0". The tallest national population on earth. That is a 20-centimetre transformation in about 150 years. One of the fastest documented height increases in human history. What drove it? Researchers are consistent: dairy. Meat. High-quality animal protein at scale, democratised across the population as prosperity spread. The Netherlands is a dairy farming country. It always was. What changed was that ordinary people, not just the wealthy, could access what the land produced. The Dutch didn't get taller because of a new crop. They got taller because of a cow.

Mamy też całkiem niezłą opinię wśród Rumunów gdy chodzi o naszą skłonność do dotrzymywania zobowiązań sojuszniczych. 61,7% mieszkańców tego kraju uważa, że w ramach Artykułu 5 NATO udzielilibyśmy mu pomocy gdyby ten został zaatakowany. Podobny wynik notuje Wielka Brytania (63,9%). Na szczycie listy znajduje się zaś USA (75,6%) oraz - i to jest jednak zaskoczenie - Niemcy (69,4%) oraz Francja (69,3%).
Skąd tak wysoka wiara w niemiecką skłonność do angażowania się w działania zbrojne (tak ogólnie, nie tylko w obronie Rumunii). Doprawdy nie wiem. I mówię to bez cienia złośliwości pod adresem Berlina.

Polska cieszy się jednym z najwyższych poziomów zaufania wśród Rumunów. 🇵🇱🇵🇱🤝🤝🇷🇴🇷🇴 🥉Nasz kraj zajmuje w tej kategorii piąte (a właściwie niemal trzecie) miejsce. Takie są wyniki „Barometru bezpieczeństwa narodowego”, zaprezentowanego wczoraj w bukareszteńskim Pałacu Parlamentu. Za godne zaufania państwo nasze uznaje 41,6% mieszkańców Rumunii. Nasz wynik jest niemal identyczny z wyprzedzającymi nas o włos Niemcami (41,7%) i Francją (41,9%). To naprawdę duże osiągnięcie, jeśli wziąść pod uwagę tradycyjnie bliskie relacje Bukaresztu z Paryżem oraz historyczną i kulturową rolę jaki Francja (nazywana w Karpatach "starszą siostrą" odgrywa w Rumunii. Na pierwszym i drugim miejscu plasują się natomiast kolejno USA (55,8%) oraz Wielka Brytania (46,8%). Pod nami są natomiast m. in. Mołdawia (29,9%), Bułgaria (29,2%), Turcja (28,6%) i Serbia (21,2%). W ogonku plasują się Węgry, Ukraina i Rosja notujące odpowiednio 20,1%, 16,8% oraz 12,6%. Dzięki @Romania_Geopol3 za podrzucenie!

Every time I come back to Brussels, I’m struck by the light speed of the renovation of Place Schuman.
In two years of construction, they’ve essentially managed to replace some asphalt and install a few concrete buckets for plants (and no, there’s no complex underground work).

S-a aflat oferta concreta a Frantei in ceea ce priveste oferta "umbrelei nucleare" facuta Romaniei. Franta ii propune Romaniei sa ofere doua avioane de vanatoare Rafale capabile sa transporte focoase nucleare. In mod concret Franta nu ar dona acele avioane Rafal armate cu rachete nucleare, ci isi iau angajamentul ca daca Romania ar fi atacata nuclear ei vor interveni. Ministrul de externe, Oana Toiu a declarat la Varsovia ca Romania a fost invitata sa participe la discutii privind "umbrela nucleara". Subiectul va fi discutat in CSAT, condus de presedintele Nicusor Dan care va avea mai multe intalniri in ceea ce priveste acest subiect. Economia Romaniei va fi mai sigura sub "umbrela nucleara" a Frantei, desi noi suntem sub "umbrela nucleara" NATO?

Azi se deschide la Berlin marea expoziție Brâncuși, sub patronajul comun al Președinților României, Nicușor Dan, Germaniei, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, și Franței, Emmanuel Macron. Sculpturile lui Brâncuși, pioner al sculpturii moderne, își găsesc un cadru potrivit în clădirea Neue Nationalgalerie a lui Mies van der Rohe, emblematică și ea pentru arhitectura secolului XX. Expoziția reunește opere din numeroase colecții, inclusiv o reconstituire a atelierului lui Brâncuși de la Paris. O recomand tuturor iubitorilor de artă. Le mulțumim autorităților germane și franceze pentru această excelentă colaborare.

🇷🇴Rumuńska teopolityka☦️☦️.
Słuchanie, a szczególnie próba przełożenia na polski wystąpień i wypowiedzi Calina Georgescu (pamiętacie - to zwycięzca pierwszej tury unieważnionych następnie rumuńskich wyborów prezydenckich z 2024 r.) to zadanie trudniejsze niż tłumaczenie konferencji Donalda Trumpa. Poziom niekoherentności jego wypowiedzi i skłonność do nadużywania archaizmów (często bez sensu) i urywania zdań w połowie przebija skalę.
Ostatnio Georgescu zapytany został przez dziennikarkę pewnej "alternatywnej" stacji telewizyjnej o stosunek do wojny amerykańsko irańskiej.
"Widzi Pani, to przede wszystkim wojna teopolityczna. Walka między powietrzem/przestworzami (sic!) a niebiosami. To kategoryczna walka między Archaniołem Michałem i Szatanem, dosłownie - w sensie absolutnie realnym. Jeśli ktoś postrzega to inaczej, to jego problem" - odpowiedział.
Pomijam już całą filozoficznoreligijną otoczkę prezentowanej przez Georgescu interpretacji wydarzeń politycznych (choć termin teopolityka niezwykle mi się podoba!), ale co u licha znaczy ta bitwa między przestworzami a niebiosami? Sami Rumuni nie szczególnie rozumieją to zdanie. Georgescu prawdopodobnie miał na myśli po prostu wojnę między siłami ziemskimi i siłami niebieskimi, ale jak to często u niego bywa, pogubił się we własnych metaforach.
Swoją drogą, w ramach ciekawostki - niedoszły rumuński prezydent powiedział dosłownie, że to co dzieje się na Bliskim Wschodzie to "luptă între văzduh și cer." Znający język rosyjski lub inne języki słowiańskie szybko wyłapią słowo oznaczające powietrze/przestworza. To "văzduh" (dokładnie tak samo jak w rosyjskim). Ten archaizm to kolejny z wielu śladów jakie języki słowiańskie -w tym głównie liturgiczny starocerkiewnosłowiański odcisnęły na rumuńskim.
