I've been reading the new teen titans and man it's a little jarring that this takes place so much in New York. I'm not used to DC doing that. They'll be like "we're at Jamaica Hospital" and I'll be like "I was born there!...but so was the president. Don't like that."

@GirlWhoIsnt As a piece of history I can understand its importance, it did signal more than anything else the modern dark age of comics. It's just pretentious. It screams "look at me, I'm full of grown up ideas" and then just doesn't really say anything.

Started rereading The Long Halloween. It has the unfortunate but very well deserved reputation of being one of the "see comics aren't just for kids!" books. It is, however, exceptionally good.

this wasn't meant to be serious but here's my thoughts: names carry meaning and culture, and i don't think it's appropriate to take a name of a culture that you're not a part of. of course, you can do whatever you want, but it does feel very appropriative.

Finally got to Diana's Day and you know what it did not disappoint. There's a part in that Professor Marston movie where he's like "I'm pissed at the catholics so I tripled the kink" and I think it may have been this issue.

Started reading golden age wonder woman again, mostly to get to where they hunt the dear girls. Was not expecting an issue that starts with "sorry I'm late, I had to stop my roommate for killing herself." Definitely was not expecting a panel of roommate putting a gun to her head!
