Together with RDW, we have officially completed the final vehicle testing phase for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and have submitted all documentation required for the UN R-171 approval + Article 39 exemptions. The RDW team is now reviewing the documentation and test results package internally. They have communicated the expected approval for Netherlands date of 4/10, shifting from 3/20 previously and we look forward to successful completion of this cooperation.  Following the Netherlands’ approval, European countries will be able to recognize this approval nationally. We are anticipating a possible EU-wide approval during the summer. Over the past 18 months, this approval has involved a series of intense documentation, development, testing, research & audits. Including but certainly not limited to: – 1,600,000+ km of FSD (Supervised) testing on EU roads – 13,000+ customer sales ride-alongs – 4,500+ track test scenario executions – Thousands of pages of written documentation for 400+ compliance requirements – Dozens of research studies into safety performance/results We're extremely proud of the work conducted with the RDW team up until this point. We very much look forward to the approval in April, and sharing FSD (Supervised) with our patient EU customers!

DFT & RDW Updates + Early Access Invites. Thurs 12th March. As of this morning, the Department for Transport has still not yet added any vehicles to the official public register of authorized automated vehicles and are currently still in the analysis of evidence phase following the March 5th consultation deadline. Commercial pilots is still being fast-tracked for Spring 2026 The Spring Equinox is on the 20th of March, exactly the same day the RDW is expected to approve the Article 39 exemption. If approved, this would be the first national "Go" in the EU, creating a "Mutual Recognition" path for the UK. Please note, the DFT is fast tracking 'commercial' in other words, robo taxis, waymo etc.. So where does this leave us consumers? We may need to wait for what comes from the recent consultation, This consultation, which ended on March 5th specifically asked for evidence on "user responsibility for offences involving user-in-charge vehicles." This is the primary discussion that they are sifting through as we wait. Tesla may try to launch "FSD Supervised" as a Level 2 system (where you keep 100% liability), which wouldn't require these new "User-in-Charge" laws. This is what the RDW decision on March 20th will likely trigger. Tesla has officially begun sending "Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Early Access" invitations to selected owners in Europe. Under EU Mutual Recognition, the RDW's approval could create a legal pathway that the UK DfT can adopt. There is also rumors that early adoption will be them with a good safty score. Every ping you recieve from your early warning detection, every harsh break and sudden acceleration is all monitored and scored. You just can't see it. So start taking it easy folks. Set your early warning ABS etc to late, drive within the speed limit, no sudden take offs. Drive as much as you can on EAP. Hopefully by the time things come to the UK, assuming you have HW4 then you will be front of thr queue. Who has got the latest updates? 2026.2.9.1 Anyone tried EAP? Or FSD though not FSD lol. Department For Transport Update: Thursday March 5th, 2026 ​We are in the final hours of the most critical legal window for Tesla in the UK. Deadline: 11:59 PM Tonight ​The DfT’s major "Call for Evidence" on the Statement of Safety Principles officially closes tonight. Final submissions from major stakeholders—including the ABI (Insurers), Thatcham Research, and Tesla’s UK policy team, have been logged today. ​The primary focus of tonight's closing arguments has been the "Transition Demand"—the legal requirement for how many seconds the car must give you to take over before it is considered unsafe. In reality, the DfT usually takes 7 to 14 days to digest the final feedback before publishing the finalized Principles. This aligns perfectly with the March 20th date Musk mentioned for the Dutch approval. ​The DfT has reaffirmed that they are targeting Spring 2026 for the first passenger pilots Spring in government terms technically begins on March 20th (the Spring Equinox), again this perfectly aligns with the neterthlands, possibly synchronized for a late-March "Green Light." ​The most important thing to watch for in the coming days, is the DfT's first mention of the Authorised Self-Driving Entity (ASDE) list. ​Under the automation act, no car can turn on FSD unless the manufacturer (Tesla) is on this list. ​Now that the consultation is closing, the Secretary of transport can legally begin naming companies to this list. ​Important Note: Tonight's closing of the consultation is the final paperwork hurdle. Starting tomorrow, we shift from talking about the law to executing the law.

🇳🇱 The Netherlands: what happened? 🇬🇧 The UK: Where does that leave us? While the February "Demonstration" was successful, the legal paperwork for the Article 39 Exemption needs three more weeks of processing. March 20th is the new target. ​We now have a direct quote over the weekend at Giga Berlin, Elon Musk addressed the Dutch RDW timeline where he stated that the Dutch authorities have provided a new target date of March 20, 2026 for the official FSD (Supervised) approval. ​Quote: "We're told by the authorities that March 20th, it'll be approved in the Netherlands... hopefully that date remains the same." ​ So what does this now mean for the UK? March 5th Milestone (This Thursday) ​is the closing date for the DfT's major consultation on self-driving safety. ​Following this date, the DfT is expected to release the Statement of Safety Principles. Because the UK is using the already passed automated act rather than an "Exemption" there is a possibility for a UK-specific user in charge (UIC) pilot launch independent of the Dutch March 20th date. What that pilot launch would look like remains the question. With today's latest update, we have seen an Autopilot renaming, and AI Computer rename, we know the UK was insistent of renaming Full Self Drive. Did Tesla listen? Is this the start of something?

Tesla has started rolling out software version 2026.2.9, bringing subtle but noticeable changes to how its driver-assistance features are labeled across the vehicle interface. The update replaces the familiar “Autopilot” menu with a new “Self-Driving” section, while “Self-Driving Stats” has been renamed to “FSD (Supervised) Stats.” Several other in-system references to Autopilot have also been updated, signaling Tesla’s continued shift toward clearer branding around its Full Self-Driving technology. The update does not introduce new driving capabilities but focuses on interface refinement and consistency. Owners have also spotted small UI improvements, including revised messages shown when drivers disengage Self-Driving.

FSD V14.2.2.5 moves onto software branch 2026.2. This updates contains name changes likely required for European release and likely allows European cars to be migrated to FSD V14.

Whilst Elon has stated 20 Mar for FSD release there are some interesting developments which could see a RDW announcement today. The page below is where the official announcements will be made, of course there are always leaks so you may here from other sources first. 🇳🇱 RDW Staus Thursday 26th Feb. Tomorrow is the day we expect a decision from the RDW, fingers and toes crossed it is all systems go, it does not bare to think about if they do not approve. Jeremy Stern has done some more awesome work in uncovering FSD ride alongs soon to be available here in the UK, proving another step forward finally in the right direction. Jeremy has noted, the date when you search this, which also states tomorrow just as we expect the RDW announcement. Once the announcement is made, possibly in the morning, expect all channels to be flooded with excitement, even if it does not directly approve anything for the UK, everything points to a possitive way forward and it will be coming soon.
