@avekoitar Hard disagree. Real women face sexual violence and discrimination every day. The misogynistic portrayal of women which objectifies them normalizes the same culture that makes men feel like they are owed real womens attention.

@avekoitar I think the reason why female chars having crushes on the mc is more noticed is because it’s feeding into the patriarchal idea that womens lives should revolve around men, and that being with a man is the purpose of a woman. Women nowadays just don’t like the centering of men

@radhuhh not necessarily, a lot simply like the character without thinking about nuances and complex stuff. by the way, male love interests in gachas are also problematic and also harm real teenagers, but for some reason men having a crush on mcs is encouraged and not hated

@avekoitar I’m not sure why a fictional character without feelings needs defending. I understand the VA and cosplayer thing though. But aren’t fans of these characters just accepting the misogynistic writing and design choices?

@radhuhh i defend female characters because the hate for them is always misogyny and slutshaming which truly shows the haters’ mentality (what do religious people do in a gacha? gambling is a sin)
and also, they will inevitably hate and harass real women over them (VAs, cosplayers, fans)
