@radujude Welcome. You are one of the great chroniclers of this current era so it's kind of surprising you're not on here more but also, it's probably good you're not because this is not a good place to be.
@radujude@mubicanada Certification would be an official notice from a social-media provider that it has certified that “radu jude” is actually the director of numerous contemporary film classics and not some rando in Targu Mures.
Hi all! I'm Adam Nayman (@brofromanother) and I've been asked to tweet for @mubicanada for the next two hours to celebrate the streaming premiere of Radu Jude's superb DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH FROM THE END OF THE WORLD
@vjmfilms@mubicanada Oh, I guess it is a much longer answer, on short it was just the necessity to touch certain topics for which I felt a traditional narrative technique is not working.
@radujude@mubicanada On the assumption I’m talking to the actual director … what caused you to switch from the neo-realistic style of something like EVERYBODY IN OUR FAMILY to your last few films that are like Godardian essays.
For anybody just tuning into this 2-hour @mubicanada takeover in celebration of the streaming premiere DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH FROM THE END OF THE WORLD, Radu Jude has shared pictures of Donald Trump, Vlad the Impaler and a cat and chosen Highway 61 as his favourite Dylan album
Over the next two hours, I want to share some thoughts about DNETM, as well as on Jude's other features and shorts; I've also been promised that @radujude will drop by for some trolling.
@mubicanada well, many of them, I would choose conventionally Highway 61. But we have a pretty popular cover-band doing sometimes Dylan's versions like Mr Tambourine Man: youtube.com/watch?v=SCugJE…
@mubicanada Maybe. Because Romanian language is richer in profanities, it seems. Like "Fuck your dead mother's relatives!" is a regular curse, but translated literally wouldn't it sound weird?
Probably the most movie indelible character of the year so far is Bobita, the vulgar alter ego of Angela (Ilinca Manolache); a filter without a filter (pictured with master filmmaker Uwe Boll)
@mubicanada I like his personality and his drive. I like Assault on Wall Street and he told me about his first two features which I have yet to see - they seem pretty experimental
Hey all: in one hour I’ll be taking over @mubicanada’s feed for a couple of hours to talk about Radu Jude’s great new movie and other things; come say hi!
