I am an Arab Muslim who was born and raised in Israel. My father worked at one of the largest transportation bus companies in Israel, called Egged אגד, for decades. Most of my father's closest friends were Jews, one of whom had lost his young son in an infamous tragic terrorist attack. Arabs and Jews do coexist and get along in Israel. No country is perfect, of course, and there are citizens harboring extremist political and religious ideologies on both sides. The undeniable reality, however, is that despite of Israel's imperfection, Israeli Arabs; Muslims, Christians, etc, do enjoy benefits and freedoms celebrated in Western democracies and simply are incomprable to any other country in the MENA.

The world should stand with humanity against the Islamic regime in Iran. The regime has just declared war on the world. The regime is now targeting civilians, including women and children in Israel. Missiles aimed at the lives of Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Arabs in Israel. It is time for NATO, the EU, and America to stand together with the people of the Middle East and support efforts to counter terrorism, deter aggression, and protect civilians. Trump saying that we are reaching a ceasefire with such evil is WRONG. Stand with the Iranian people. Stand for peace, security, and a future free from fear and extremism.

Just so we’re clear: The war in Lebanon is not between Hezbollah and Israel, with Lebanon as some hapless victim caught in the crossfire. This war exists because Lebanon has failed to prevent armed attacks against Israel launched from its own territory. Hezbollah is the aggressor. Israel is reacting in self-defense. Lebanese citizens who genuinely want Israel to stop must first remove the reason for Israel’s actions: Hezbollah. Once Hezbollah is disarmed and disbanded, everything the Lebanese are currently demanding from Israel will happen automatically, even without Beirut having to ask. It’s time to be honest and courageous enough to face reality instead of repeating the populist but false narrative that Hezbollah and Israel are equally enemies of Lebanon. Hezbollah is. Israel is not. The faster the Lebanese understand this, the sooner they can rid themselves of Hezbollah and finally live in peace with Israel.

Why do I stand with the Jewish people? Because I love the Prophets, kings, and heroes of Israel, names carried by 1.8 billion Muslims, often without recognizing their deep connection to the Jewish people of today and to the State of Israel. My soul was with Jacob when he wrestled with the angel and was named Israel at dawn. My soul was with Moses and the Children of Israel as they left Egypt for the land of milk and honey through their wandering and their arrival under Joshua ben Nun. My soul was there when the ancestors of today’s Jews asked Samuel for a king, when Saul was chosen, and when David established Jerusalem as the capital. I carry within me the memory of the united kingdom, its division, the Assyrian and Babylonian exiles, the days of Judah Maccabee and Mattathias who rose against the Greeks and restored independence, and the revolt of Bar Kokhba until the long exile, and the return in 1948. Jewish history is part of my heritage as a Muslim. I defend it because I honor the men of God from Israel who brought monotheism to the world. My love for the Bible drives me to stand even when it means standing against prevailing views in the Muslim world to educate, to correct, and to challenge. I was once in that darkness of hatred toward Jews, but I confronted it, dismantled it, and left it behind 16 years ago. This is why I strive to be known as a champion of the Abraham Accords. I believe they represent one of the greatest breakthroughs in modern diplomacy. God bless Donald J. Trump and his team for bringing them forward. I will continue to work for their expansion, inshallah. I will always strive to stand on the right side of history. This is why I am proud to be a friend of the Jewish people and of the great people of Iran, the descendants of Cyrus the Great.
