@raghu_cc @HeyItsSangam You also need to understand it’s not about city, Infrastructure matters. Jaipur metro is suffering loss yet railway minister sanctioned some 13,000 crore for its second phase

The audacity to call Jaipur a “big city,” but flip the logic when it’s Bhubaneswar. Is Odisha only meant to supply raw materials and labour? Why are we denied the same infrastructure as other states? Why this blatant partiality?
Ashwini Vaishnaw@AshwiniVaishnaw

Union Cabinet approved Jaipur Metro Phase 2 (41 km | ₹13,038 Cr) 🚇 Route: Prahladpura to Todi Mod 🚇 Stations: 36 (34 elevated and 2 underground) ✅ Designed to meet future mobility demand.

@HeyItsSangam Bhuvaneswar doesn't need one. Same goes for Patna, Agra and Bhopal too. Indian govt should have focused solely on cities with 3 million plus population and build more. Instead they built a couple lines in every city and no one can use to it's full potential.

@raghu_cc I’m not comparing with Jaipur! I’m just demanding what we deserve. Due to the political volatility they are scrapping the metro project.

@VizagPanda We should rather build a metro. This won't work inside an Indian city

@OdishaGrowthHub It's a small city why do you need a metro? Jaipur is 3 times bigger

🚨 Odisha, are we being left behind? ₹13,000+ Cr approved for Jaipur Metro Phase-2 ✅ But Bhubaneswar Metro was scrapped after ₹250+ Cr already spent ❌ Years of planning. Crores of public money. And still — no metro for our capital? Why this injustice to a fast-growing state like Odisha? #OdishaDeservesBetter #Bhubaneswar

Jaipur Metro is running at a loss, yet ₹13,038 crore has been approved for Phase 2. That’s how long-term investment should work. Metro projects create massive benefits that can’t always be measured in monetary terms. This is why scrapping of Bhubaneswar Metro is short-sighted and lack of vision. The real value of a metro comes when the network expands over multiple phases and connects key daily commute hubs. You can’t expect profits or high ridership from just a small stretch, like in Bhopal (with only about 6 km of metro line). These systems need time and scale. We should keep investing for the future. It’s far better than spending crores on freebies. Our tax money should go into building strong, future-ready infrastructure.

When will 2-wheelers stop overtaking from the left in this country? Have experienced myself that 2-wheelers will cut you from left even after you giving a left indicator.

We spent a year reverse engineering a part for one of the three services. Even built a sample and showed it to them. The ONLY company to do that. Lost out on the bid because apparently, we didn't have the production line to make the part. This, when we had already mentioned that we would invest in the machinery. How can we indigenize when you come up against bureaucracy??

VIDEO | Delhi: Addressing Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS) and Indian Military Review (IMR) joint seminar, Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, Maintenance Command of the IAF, says, “The complexity of operational tempo and the environment of military aviation demand high-performance systems with exceptional reliability, maintained in an operational state at all times. The military aerospace manufacturing industry has largely grown around licensed manufacturing of airframe structures based on foreign Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) designs. Engines, aggregates, accessories, and avionics are usually supplied as kits. Even when these are manufactured within India, foreign OEMs maintain tight control over critical parts, technology, processes, and raw materials. In essence, we continue to depend on foreign OEMs. This dependency, along with geopolitics, commercial considerations, obsolescence, and OEMs shifting focus to newer products, compels countries like ours to seek sustainable solutions beyond OEM support.” (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

@Rohith_sPyD3r I think the question was about lack of integration with L&T owned Hyderbad metro with this. With SG owning the whole thing, it should get cleared. If not, there is really something wrong with who ever is approving/ rejecting lines.

One crowded station ≠ a metro-friendly city. This kind of crowd is routine at Dombivli, Thane, Borivali. Delhi Metro clocks ~64 lakh daily trips (not people) in a city of 3.5+ crore. Compare that with MTR—the system it drew inspiration from. PS: Ridership metrics differ

The whole “Delhiites don’t take the metro” is such a false accusation, look at this Hauz Khas metro station literally at capacity. A few more people and the crowd will overspill. The Golden line needs to be expedited and West Delhi needs a direct metro to Gurgaon.
