It’s very interesting how today’s ZDF poll in Germany shows that 72% of Germans consider the AfD a danger to democracy, which almost perfectly matches the party’s current polling at around 26%. In theory, this could suggest that the AfD is already close to its electoral ceiling. I don’t usually analyse these kinds of things too much, since a party’s ceiling or electoral potential is always variable, but it’s still a significant figure.

72% of Germans say the AfD is a danger for democracy. That is almost all current non-AfD voters (AfD polls at exactly 26%). (ZDF Politbarometer)

Jacksonian slopulism was so bad that they deemed the most basic politicking "The Corrupt Bargain" like the future of America's democracy was at stake

@AdamRamsay Alberta was not permitted an independence referendum by the Federal government. The Alberta government, on their own accord, decided to call a referendum about calling a referendum.

@drowldr I don't really see what COPE has to offer that's better than OneCity's complete focus on more housing. Not to the Labour movement, just in general.

@Cladach_em I was thinking he resigns after being forced out due to spite and Zack runs in the byelection.

Many people told me to make US electoral simulators but what's even the point. They gerrymander their house seats every single year and there are like 20 competitive seats across America

@drowldr The Liberal Party always seems to shift so massively towards the right and austerity when the NDP has collapsed, almost as if that's its true nature and it's only being held back from doing so by the threat of the NDP.

Here's my central estimate for how the 2024 UK General Election would've looked using Single Transferable Vote Boundaries inspired by Denis Mollison (143 constituencies)

@Cadeyrnn This analogy fails when you consider that NES is spritually Trotskyist (has a point about the leadership but is also just annoying) and the OLP establishment is spiritually Stalinist.

I don't get how America is always having some election or another going on. And they're holding multiple levels of governments' elections at the same time unlike Canada how are there that many races for there to be that many elections.
