就在4月19日，台湾陆委会还表态说，政府会回应业界的“合理诉求”，但警告业界“不要沦为中共操纵和利用的工具”。
许舒博领衔的台湾全国商业总会代表了超过100万家企业。该机构不久前在一份声明中呼吁台湾政府“积极应对”北京提出的方案。许舒博还说，他们代表了“不区分党派的”产业界声音，其选票“将投给对台湾产业有利的人”。“只要你们提出好的政策，我们就会支持。但如果你们反对我们，很抱歉，我无法支持你们。我们有投票权——我们是一个民主社会。”
