every few weeks same movie on X new AI motion tool drops company posts a shiny launch video "100% made with AI" 3M views everyone panics then some motion designers jump in saying "i did this with 2 prompts. designers are dead." higgs some shit.. remotion AI now replit animation next month another one. and yet… real motion designers are still booked out. why? because those demo videos are not real client work. they are controlled examples. perfect script. perfect assets. no revisions. no brand guidelines. no legal approvals. no deadlines changing every 6 hours. real projects look like this: client sends 40-slide deck changes headline 5 times asks for 6 formats needs editable files wants subtitles in 3 languages asks to match previous campaign style needs version without music needs delivery tomorrow morning. show me one prompt that handles that. AI can generate frames. it cannot run a production pipeline. and lets talk about those "2 prompts" tweets. nobody shows the real process: retry 20 times fix broken typography replace weird icons clean masking glitches rebuild timing manually export again client says slower redo. suddenly that "2 prompt video" took 2 days and still looks generic. real talk: if it takes you 2 days to get a mid AI clip you just proved why designers are still needed. because motion design is not typing words into a box. its understanding: timing hierarchy pacing emotion brand consistency storytelling delivery specs client psychology. AI doesnt know why a scene feels wrong. AI doesnt know when LESS animation sells more. AI doesnt know what to remove. and companies posting these demos? of course they hype it. they built the product. its marketing. same way camera companies post perfect photos. doesnt mean everyone becomes a photographer overnight. tools get easier every year. standards go UP every year. so stop falling for hype loops on X. learn the tools use AI where it helps but build real skills. AI didnt replace motion designers. it exposed who never understood motion design in the first place and revealing “bots” posting “made it in 2 prompts”
