@pick_six22 In any normal organization, it is very very difficult to have your next candidate ready before the old one is out. The higher profile the position, the harder that is. Not a reasonable standard in my view.

I worked at GOOG for 7 years & listened very carefully to Larry & Sergey about their vision for search. Using Grok, it is clear to me that this product has become what L&S envisioned. Remarkable the lead GOOG had and now they are very far behind.

Why are some so against people working remote? If a job can be done remotely & that person can work autonomously then why not? I get so much more done and am much happier overall when I work remote. No distractions. No pointless meetings. No wasted time getting ready & driving

@DomClare Whether a job should be done remotely needs to be evaluated at the job level, not the company level. Then use data to evaluate efficacy. 👍✅ 👎🚫 Most senior leaders are low trust and need to see people working/imagine some sort of peer pressure of employees seeing each other.

@elonmusk Difference between a chronic toxin and an acute toxin. Cyanide and arsenic are acute toxins. It can be argued that sugar is a chronic toxin. LoL you don't see an obesity epidemic outside a candy store.

@SelfMadeMastery Hey there. 52 year old dad of 3 here. Give lots of personal finance advice to young adults. Try to have no car payment. My very strong recommendation is to find a 10 year old Toyota with fewer than 100K miles and do your best not to take any loan/minimize the loan.
