With the Grantathon 2016 team at the University of Pittsburgh — celebrating 10 years of collaboration with University of Pittsburgh, ICMR New Delhi, PRIIIA-TEAMS, and NIH, USA. A decade of mental health research.

Our collaboration began in 2020 through virtual engagement during pandemic, and we have since worked together on multiple research initiatives. Meeting in person in 2026 marks an important milestone in our ongoing academic partnership & future global mental health collaborations.

Today, along with Dr. Sharad Philip and Dr. Vivek Saharan, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Victor Pereira-Sanchez, Research Fellow in Global Mental Health and Implementation Science, Columbia University, New York, for the first time at Times Square, New York, USA.

NMHS 2.0 Nagaland

NIMHANS-Bangalaru & AIIMS Guwahati conducted a Theory of Change workshop under National Mental Health Survey 2.0 for all northeastern states, strengthening mental health systems in Northeast India. #MentalHealth #NMHS2 #NorthEastIndia #PublicHealth

Participated in the SATYA Workshop on Diagnostic Yield and Accuracy, jointly organized by AIIMS Jodhpur in collaboration with ICMR–DHR.

Doctoral Committee (DC) meeting of the Department of General Surgery & Minimal invasive Surgery, AIIMS Guwahati. Joined as an Expert along with Dr Cota Navin Gupta, Assistant Professor, IIT Guwahati.

The committee, comprising Dr Cota Navin Gupta (Assistant Professor, IIT Guwahati), Dr Nilesh Devraj (Associate Professor, AIIMS Guwahati) and Dr Kewi Newme (Associate Professor, AIIMS Guwahati), reviewed the academic progress of PhD scholars

At Kharupetia, Darrang (Assam) with Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Anand (Dept of Clinical Psychology, NIMHANS, Bangalore) and the AIIMS Guwahati team as part of NMHS 2.0 – Assam

NMHS 2.0 – Assam An office snapshot of investigators and field teams driving the National Mental Health Survey 2.0 – Assam. With nearly 80% of field activities completed, this collective effort is building evidence to shape national and state mental health policy.

Prof. Dr Nitin Anand, Dept of Clinical Psychology, visited AIIMS Guwahati to review the progress of National Mental Health Survey (NMHS) 2.0- Assam.

Initiatives like this helps to build learning environments where every child feels supported and hopeful. With sustained commitment to student mental health, our institutions can continue to evolve into spaces where students feel more confident, cared for, and ready to thrive.

The discussions, shared experiences, reflections, and learning throughout the training were truly inspiring. Grateful to Shri Kulbir Bhujel Sir, Director ( I/c), NLI-Kamrup and the entire NLI team for leading the program.

On 06-01-2026, the Navodaya Leadership Institute (NLI), Kamrup, hosted a training program on student mental wellbeing, bringing together participants from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) across Northeastern states (Shillong Region).

Engaging policymakers, academics, researchers & students to strengthen suicide prevention in Tripura.

Today, Presented an overview of student suicide risk reduction & mental well-being, highlighting Assam’s ongoing collaborative work led by AIIMS Guwahati with NMHP Assam & Education Departments of Govt of Assam, funded by ICMR, New Delhi, at 26th Annual Conference of IPS–Tripura.
