Glad to see so many of you find this post resonant, and all the great discussion around it. If you care about excellence—and not the pseudo, hustle culture variety—then I suspect you'll love my upcoming book. I'm giving away great preorder bonuses here: wayofexcellencebook.com

@N1Aarun I get it. Totally fine to have an opinion on the standards, just wanted to share that the women's time has moved in recent years.
English

@rambling_runner Yeah I went down a rabbit hole and realized just because I run with a bunch of women that can achieve an OTQ in their sleep, doesn’t mean a 2:37 is easily done 😅 I’m spoiled with super women in my circle. The men’s standard just seems so fast in comparison
English

Why in the hell do the men’s standards keep getting significantly faster but women’s stay easily attainable (for elites/sub-elites)? Women’s times should be in the 2:20’s or at least 2:30. Women are way faster these days than the set qualifying times for majors/trials/AG worlds

@BStulberg I hate to nitpick but I think it's important to set realistic expectations so folks don't get frustrated by inaccurate perceptions of how they should feel.
English

@BStulberg I don't know man, pursuing excellence is incredibly challenging and very, very hard. It's exhausting physically, mentally, and emotionally. I may be energizing in the beginning but that doesn't last long.

Hey @grok can you share some more about the cognitive benefits of creatine supplementation?
English

I have ADHD and have recently increased my creatine consumption to 10g/day (going on a week now) and had been doing 5g/day since January.
Definitely feeling cognitive (and athletic) benefits.
Nicholas Fabiano, MD@NTFabiano
Creatine has cognitive benefits. It would be interesting to see a trial using creatine as a treatment for ADHD, particularly at doses ≥ 10 g/day.

Jeez, @MelKiperESPN, you have got to chill out. Calling out the entire NFL for not knowing how to evaluate QB's while having Will Levis ranked above CJ Stroud just two years ago.
