In that spirit, I'm really thankful for the Ontario Arts Council and their continuing work to support and uplift BIPOC artists in Ontario.

My mind has been heavy with thoughts of how Indigenous writers and writers of colour are facing increasing efforts to silence their creative voices, amidst already formidable institutional, economic, political and social challenges.

I'm really thankful to the @ontarioartscouncil for giving me the opportunity this year to learn with Nicole Breit and Rowan McCandless this year, through an OAC grant under the Skills and Career Development - Indigenous Arts Professionals and Arts Professionals of Colour program.

I've been rather capacity-challenged the last few months, but I want to announce that I'll be giving a mini-talk on giving sensitive feedback on Aug. 16th, as part of the 2025 HippoCamp online CNF conference, presented by @hippocampusmag !

Seeing the misogynistic and racist comments flood @Erdayastronaut's commentary on the Blue Origin livestream of the New Glenn launch just shows how, despite our advancements in technology, society is still stuck in the past.
