Looks like all @AAI_Official airports have experimented with this facility. Coimbatore, Bhopal, Pune and. Bhubaneswar. The big ones which have been privatised don’t have it. Must mention that while there were a couple of good coffee table books in @aaicbeairport ‘s Flybrary, most were not great. But the idea is good and if people donate and others don’t walk away with the good ones, this is so different from the glitz of airport malls and useless bookshops now in the departure halls.

@ramreddy There's one at Bhubaneswar airport too! Lovely initiative :)) x.com/pratichi/statu…

I have never seen anything like this in any airport in India or elsewhere (experience limited). A free library in the departure waiting hall of Coimbatore airport. Read and leave behind before boarding. No boarding pass, no deposit, no Aadhaar. Congratulations Airport Authority of India. Please continue. Next time I am passing through I will donate some books. If Adani was in charge they’d ask us to leave our shirts behind. @aaicbeairport @AAI_Official

For the Left, Right and Everyone else, "These interests, as the MEA has reminded us, include the safety of some 10 million Indian citizens living and working in the region, India’s dependence on energy imports from West Asia and shipping routes running through it. Indeed, India is a “proximate neighbour with critical stakes in the security and stability of the region”. Further, Indians in the region account for almost 40% of our foreign exchange remittances. Owing to the efforts of the Modi government, Gulf countries’ investments in India and imports from India have also significantly risen in recent years. As has India’s access to Israeli military technology and intelligence network. Yet the preservation of our “critical stakes” was always reliant on something more than hectic diplomacy or frantic crisis management. In a chronically unstable region, marked by multiple and intersecting lines of political and military rivalry among states and non-state actors as well as external powers, India’s ability to manage its diverse interests with a range of West Asian countries turned on two crucial axes: its overall credibility as a partner, and its willingness to stand by the “rules of the game” of international politics. This is not a question of international law, but of the norms and rules, understandings and standards of conduct about what is and is not permissible in international relations. These form the baselines within which the game of international politics is played. No game, however competitive or brutal, can be played without such rules. For a country with serious interests at stake but limited economic or military capabilities these rules of the game are fundamental. Unfortunately, New Delhi has, by its acts of commission and omission, struck a blow at these foundational elements of its regional policy."

Srinath Raghavan offers a closely argued and sharp critique of how India's "mealy-mouthed" response to the war on Iran is going to have (negative) consequences for India in the short and long-run. Do read one of the few independent assessments to be made of the Indian position from Modi's visit to Israel on the eve of the war to its response to the sinking of the Iranian frigate returning after a fleet review in Visakhapatnam. #Iran #US #Israel #India theindiaforum.in/international-… @TheIndiaForum

There are a few things to unpack here: 1. Kundan literally means "pure gold." It is not a Hindu god's name, but it is an accepted Hindustani word. So why can't a Muslim name his shop Kundan? 2. And even if it was a Hindu god's name, who can stop a Muslim from naming his business after it? 3. Keep an eye on the police officer who is standing next to the harasser Deepak Sharma. This happened on the Agra-Aligarh highway in Uttar Pradesh, where an elderly Muslim tea seller (who couldn't even stand straight) was harassed and insulted. As you can see, the police officers asked the man not to film the video because they did not want to be identified. They understand they are breaking the law. This is lawless UP at its peak. Because nothing will happen to the policemen or Deepak Sharma as they literally break the law in front of cameras. This is Africa.

Hello @VietnamAirlines You have charged 2.976 million VND (more than USD $100) for a service you did not provide on VN 985 Hanoi-Hyderabad on 1 February for my son KRISHNA AMAN RAMESHWAR. (PNR: EBL8JZ). Yet a refund has not been provided. This payment made by me was for an emergency row seat, which on check in was not provided because of change in aircraft configuration. Please check your records. I have written 3 emails but no proper reply has been received including from Luu Thi Hien Ninh (Mrs.) Deputy Manager (VIAGS) on 11 Feb. Please see EMD below. Please refund full amount at earliest. This is not what you would expect from an international airline which claims to provide quality service. Customer service response has also been poor.
